Where do THEY stand?

I was thinking a bit about the factions on Atys and it got me to wondering about my (Sanz's) opinions on the three K's; the Karavan, Kami and Kitin.
To start with they are all spelt the same when they are pluralised. (i.e. One Karavan, many Karavan) And they all start with K.
But aside from these things, we have very little idea how these creatures relate to each other. What do the Kami (creatures who appear to frown on destruction of the environment) feel about the Kitin? Are they for or against them? Currently, their goal seems to be preservation of the natural balance. If the Kitin were to rise up again, would they protect us or would they just let us be culled a little, to make sure that the land is undisturbed. And if they are on the side of homins in the matter, why have they not helped us eliminate this threat?
Also, why haven't the Karavan done the same? They say they will protect us but they protect the secrets about themselves and their technology much more carefully.
These are two races that helped homins flee from the Kitin threat while fighting and driving them back. These are the advanced races that we are meant to follow and yet they can't even solve a bug infestation? Yet I truely believe, in their own way, they are trying to help us. For what ends, though? I can only remain optimistic and hope that the ends are not ours.

Did you ever see a karavan hunting ? not me. They only kill to protect. But many times you can see Kamimaster of Fairhaven having fun while hunting clopper.
What ever will be revealed to homins, it will be no black & white story...

Thats to avoid the overgrowth of the clopper population in that particular area = to avoid excessive agro population on a newbie directed area. (I think..)

I had a long roleplay arguement about Kami & karavan with a Kami supporter.
There is much talk of only 3 ways!
Kami, Karavan and Netrual.
Well I follow a 4th way! This lead to a heated debate that there is no 4th way
IC: I don't talk that much about the 4th way only in snippits as to do so has had homins killed (burned) for hericy.
OOC:
The different ways:
Kami - devotion to the teaching of the Kami (see raynes)
Karavan - devotion to Jena and the ideal that she is a God in the biblical sense (See DoubleTap)
Neutral - passive, undecided players who don't know which to believe in and have kinda opted out.
Active Netural - The way of Elias, Distrust of both Kami and Karavan, but tolerance and attentiveness to both. (could be argued as taking the best of both worlds, they are physical in presence and can be communited with)
Elias and Jena are both in the history as been in existance. However like Jesus, it can't be proved that they really existed or are the stuff of legends.
(do start a debate on the real world aspects of this, this is definately not the place and we have enough wars in the world based on this alone!)
If Elias and Jena are 'real' then they are not gods they are creators seen as Gods. If they are the stuff of legends, then its is their words and teaching that are important here.
Neun believes Elias to be mortal. (He can't prove it but thats his belief!). He has heard his voice, but hey loads of people hear voices in their heads. (large buildings full of them)
So now you know!
A game with all this freedom means that no matter what the writes try to force (Kami vs Karavan wars). We are still free to chose what we believe in, as we are in real life. We are also free at anytime to change our view point. Free will after all is exactly freedom of chose.

Upto now i have a more neutral position in this. I think its possible to do so. My heart is more with the Kami, my brain more with the Karavan. Both help the homins. Our lives would be much harder without their TPs.
But there is another thing.. why do they even care about homins ? Do they need something from planet Atys or hominkind ? Are they refugees too ? It this all not only an Atys problem but a problem within the atysian solarsystem ?
Are they neighbours or do we all have the same roots (thinking of gibbai, frahar and cutes) ?

Neun, I had always thought that this 4th way you describe is what I considered neutral!

I think of people who haven't chosen one way or the other as "undecided". I think I'll adopt this syntax though, makes things easier. So too that effect, I would be described as "active neutral" towards Kami and Karavan factions and "neutral" to Elias. I don't know him, I don't know enough of his teachings to make a decision in that respect and until I do, I trust him as far as I do the others.

all the Ks come from MORTAL KOMBAT!!!
didnt you know thats where all the Koolness started?
If you kant pick kami or karavan then honestly you are way too passive.
fooie on the way of elias, he just never really got close to any fuzzy kami or cybernetic karavaner to have a decent conversation
magic comes from the heart! technology consumes resources!
but then if elias started developing magitek weapons i might have a sudden change of heart,
!!!!wait a second all the karavan people still use magic(from the kamis) what do the karavan give hominkind to balance that out??????

The Kami are against the Kitin. If you read history they and the Karavan both fought together to push them back. Both groups lost lives due to it also. Since they helped us once before and their are very pro-homin I see no reason why they wouldn't help us again.
You ask why they won't help us solve a bug investation. There is a possibility that the Kitin are as much a part of Atys as we are. That even though they wish to kill us, the great tree will not survive without the bugs. After all plants need bugs to survive. Wouldn't it make sense that these big bugs are needed by the big tree. Also consider the normal behavior of bugs. If you are to go near a nest of bees what happens? They sworm and chase after you, stinging and attacking you. Well if the Prime Roots and areas deeper within Atys are the nest of these creatures (as seems to be the case) doesn't it fit perfectly that they would get mad and sworm at us?
In the end I don't think the homins will win over the Kitin nor do I think the Kitin will win over the homins. I feel that when all is said and done each will have to find their place on the great tree and will be forced to deal with each other.

That could be why the karavan dont want us in the roots, because if we kill the kitin then Atys dies too...
As for my allegiences, I used to be 100% pro-karavan, but recently I have seen that neither side is black or white, while I respect both (the karavan more) I do not fully trust them...
