i'm not going to point the finger and blame anyone, especially our old gm's and make our new gm's aware of it, however i do think i can raise a question or two and maybe can get an answer

i personally know of 2 incidents with players where they were out right breaking the rules, one to more of a degree than others. however they basically went unpunished.

the first incident was with a player that got caught red handed using a bot to harvest and had the comical excuse of "no video", you CAN'T log into the game without the use of your mouse i tried to see if it was possible. said player is still playing now but i don't think they're using the bot anymore.


now the other issue is a guild, not sure if it's as a whole or just a couple members, but seeing how the vast majority act (rp or not, you can still be a wanker and an idiot, rp'n an evil char does not mean you act like a jackass), i do believe it's the guild as whole that will pull and train mobs on unsuspecting groups and chars. i know of 2 times that this has happened and nothing has happened to any of them. i know for a fact that both times they were no where near a safe zone, such as a town or allied tribe camp, but they were in odd ball places where the aggro would have had to been dragged. once they dragged aggro to a group standing in a tp's safe zone with rather humourous effects, i still laugh at it.

however in both these cases there's nothing that's been done, just a slap on the wrist if anything. now i don't know if this is due to a low server pop, which would suck if that's the case or it's because the devs said "no can't ban them" or it's because of some stupid american court case because someone felt they were unfairly banned from something they were breaking the rules.

i would kinda like to know if on our new server or if it will continue?

the other thing i should interject for those on the other side of the pond, is does the kami players, since the guild in question is a kami guild, put up with that kind of crap from guilds or will they get an equal smackdown from the kami side and the karavan side for being jackasses and pulling aggro onto players?

now mind you i'm looking forward to the rp and such and having to deal with the "evil" kami and not a group of jackasses, which most of the kami guys fall into. i would just like to see something done about intential rule breaking that is going on.

as for me i'm just putting those ppl onto my "do not rez" list

Good post thexdane, I agree completely. Except that all kami players are jackasses, they aren't all . IF it can be shown that a group or individual is breaking rules like these (and especially in the case of the botting player, something I knew about personally, and has caused said person's entry into a few KoS lists) then they should be punished by nevrax for breaking the rules - end of story.

I wouldnt have used some of the words there, but i agree, ppl caught Botting should be banned, ( i personally dont think it is fair that the majority work hard for lvl's only for others to get them while they are sleeping ).

As for the RP, yeah, the Guild in question here & i know who it is, they are taking it beyond RP, they get personal with other players & intentionally set out to ruin their game. everyone has the right to play how they want, but not to the extent of ruining other ppl's enjoyment.

In an effort to distract the flames I have a pretty funny story to relate:

I was soloing in Knoll of Dissent and suddenly 2 raging torbs popped on me. I immediately started running and decided to make a bee-line for the Greenseed camp knowing that the NPCs there would assist me. I of course picked up some gingos along the way as well. A speed/melee aura pop, invul, and 2 self heals later I get to the camp with about 80 hp left.

My Greenseed friends did indeed begin to help and so I breathed a sigh of relief... That's when I realized that they weren't actually winning. The torbs were tearing through them like hot butter

I was honestly laughing too hard to move and a couple of newer players just happened to be walking by and wanted to join in for some odd reason and... yeah got eaten. They eventually moved away and I rezzed one of them (the other ported cause he was angry) but they didn't believe it was an accident

I think i can safely say that our community on Arispotle transcends any kami/karavan loyalties. We have our little problems with guilds or individuals, but at the end of the day the community spirit you will find here shines through and we all play together fairly

well good thing you're number one on everyone's list raynes, tho i might be a jackass some times it's not without merit, every action i take is a reaction to something being done

as for those misreading what i'm saying, i never said "everyone on the kami side is bad" i said "MOST ppl on the kami side are bad"

it's a generalization but however it is something that's horribly true, i've seen many a karavan person rp and none of them i've witnessed have resorted to personal comments

good example, that i've posted before

guildie - you are an evil kami scum
kami person - well you are the evil scum

guildie - dual me now or be quiet curr
kami person - well i bet you live at home with your parents in their basement

thing is this is a very common thing that i and others have witnessed, so for you to say it's an unfair generalization, well no it's not especially if you look at the facts it's rather fair and reasonable to say that

It doesnt matter if the offending player/guild is kami or karavan. As you so succintly put it, if they act as jackassess they will be treated as such by everyone. Other than a few stray incidents ,which have been resolved amicably between party's concerned, we havent had any problems of folk pulling aggro onto others.

I'm not saying thats Arispotle's perfect or its all rosy here, but I believe that the player community here is one of the nicest I've come across so far which is what makes most of us continue in the game.
