Nevrax need to Push Ryzom more...

the main reason the population of ryzom is soo low is because nobody knows of the game, a few flashy images on rarely visited websites is NOT going to draw in the crowds.

Nevrax spend a bit of dapper and advertise more; tv ads, magazine spreads, get some more copies on the shelves of popular game stores and such - how will people come to play if they dont know it exists???

it seems to me your a bit apprehensive to show the world your amazing game, be proud of your creation as we the players are - show it off a bit and the players will come.

They did quite a few magazine spreads...which were highly ineffective because when Ryzom finally got reviewed, it was in terrible shape [just post-patch 1]. If I had seen that it was panned by CGW, Computer Games, and PCGamer [the three I suscribe to] BEFORE I had played, I wouldn't have bought it, either. Unfortunately, those magazines haven't done an updated review [like they did with Anarchy Online]. With the NA server closing and so little buzz for the game, they probably won't update.

If I suddenly found myself in charge at Nevrax, I'd take this in two steps:

1. Finish the spring cleanup and get the outposts done to avoid hemorraging any more of the existing playerbase. If they've got extra dollars now that could be spent on a new ad push, spend it instead of temps to help with the testing and/or development. Get it done.

2. Then, spend resources/money/etc. on new advertising. Pressure the major magazines to re-visit their reviews based on the new content.

If we get an influx of new players before the new content, they're just gonna leave for the same reasons others here are getting dissatisfied.

I'd add dunebuggies with mounted machine guns and rocket launchers, target the younger more hip crowd.

I hardly read magazines as a majority of the reviews I had read in the past I disagreed with, because not everyone has the same likes/dislikes as the reviewers.

Yeah, I'd say some more advertising, also word of mouth people! come on! I told one of my friends who plays the other MMo's a lot and she's loving Ryzom a lot more! :)
