Ryzom

Hello everyone. I'm a new player who has found Ryzom to be a very attractive place to call my home for the next while compared to the other offerings that are available atm--at least for my tastes.

As a newcomer to this land, I am looking for a guild. Would anyone be nice enough to let me know if there are any guilds that match up to the following traits? Of course, it's unlikely that there's a guild that matches up perfectly, but which one(s), in your opinion, might come closest? Thanks in advance!

I am:

->An rp-er primarily, who enjoys having out-of-character conversations as well (preferably without anyone getting cross at me for spoiling the rp "mood"!)
->Strictly Zoran.
->Good alignment.
->Grateful to the Kami for resurrecting me so many times, yet as a refugee who developed far away from the religious traditions of my people, I am not willing to "worship" a phenomenon that I do not entirely understand or know with certainty to be sacred or divine. Thus, my primary motivations are exploration and knowledge-gathering, so that I can eventually make an informed decision on the whole higher powers and conflicting factions issue. My other motivations include: fighting the possessing and encroaching goo, and preparing to combat the inevitable onslaught of the kitin.
->A casual player who would prefer to take the game at a leisurely pace.


I'm hoping for a guild that:

-Roleplays quite a bit, and would be friendly to the above player-character.
-Distrusts the Karavan, is friendly to the Kami, but on the other hand does not zealously worship the Kami.
-Has a chapter in Zora.


Too much to ask? You tell me!

I can highly recommend The Samsara, contact Jyudas, Kostika or Rashan in game and they will help you out.
A friendly and honourable guild that have been in Atys from the start, you should find a warm welcome there

Indeed they are a great bunch of people, but perhaps a little mercenary for you? But I really do suggest you check them out to see first

Sounds like I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for you guys. A gallery of fun-loving Atysian rogues--now if that doesn't present a colourful roleplaying atmosphere, I don't know what would!

Plus it's a welcome sight to see our Fyros cousins letting up a little bit on the whole--you know: serious, serious, discipline, discipline, blah blah, obedience, honour, my-armour-is-stiffer-than-yours kind of thing you've had going on all these years... Oh! I mean...er..!!! That is, uh--I mean, not that I meant to give any offence, or anything!! Uh..!! I mean, uh, after all, the strength of our Fyros allies is the marvel of all the known world, and stuff, isn't it? A hard people for a hard land, and all that. Right? It's just that, well, I guess I'm just trying to say that it's nice to see the stone edges of your guys's racial character softened a bit by the golden-ness of a fun-loving spirit...

Ahh, I see! You guys must be the Fyros counter-culture!! Well, that works out just fine! Us Zorai, after all--with our advanced herbal knowledge and toad-slime gathering skills--have long been friend of Atysian counter-cultures everwhere. After all, we were one of the main driving forces behind the cultural revolution of the 2460's--or was it the 2360's? *scratches head* Some of us Zorai aren't much for math... Ah well, whenever it was, you can be sure of one thing--it's been a dang whole lot of years since whatever it was happened that started the dating of our calendar. *nods sagely* To be certain. But where was I? Oh yes! No wait. Never mind. Oh right! So, like I was saying...I'll have to keep an eye out for you guys. After all, I've always wanted to learn more about my Fyros neighbours.

Umm...you guys ARE Fyros right? (...starts to flush a little and feel like a bit of an ass...) I mean, uh...I like Trykers too, of course. You know, despite everything. I mean!! It's not their fault...I mean your fault!! Or whoever's... Er...Plus I share that spirit of exploration and freedom and stuff, so that's good. And Matis! Well! *laughs nervously* Those crazy characters. Always trying to subjugate other peoples and stuff. Ha! They or you or whoever... *wipes brow* Unless you don't like the Matis, that is...

You know, it occurs to me that this blind system of messaging leaves alot to be desired. I guess we're talking telepathically, are we? No wait, this must be a carrier pidgeon message...er, I mean carrier yubo that is, I guess. Or are we talking face to face? Hmm...that would be no good, that'd mean I'd have to go back and edit the message so that it made more sense... Hmm... Let's just call it telepathy, shall we? That way the in-game region chat is explained away, too, so it all works out rather tidily. *nods in satisfaction* Yup, I like that. So we're all telepathic now, okay? Starting now. And no saying anything that indicates otherwise. I've also taken the liberty of imagining stories about all you guys and your guild, etc., which I'll fill you in on later. But in the meantime, no saying or doing anything that contradicts what I've imagined. Okay?! Great. I'm sure we'll get on famously. Unless you can find a way to sneak away, that is... For some reason, some people maintain the odd notion that us Zorai are crazy. *scratches Kami mask in perplexity*

Did I forget to mention how much I admire the hard-cored discipline of the Fyros as a welcome respite from the undisciplined frivolty of other races (*cough*...Tryker...*cough*) and...

Geez, playing an ingraciating so and so sure is turning out to be a confusing business. Happily, I always reserve the right to change characters on a whim, with only a quick trip to the mask-painter's to indicate. So now I think I'll be a crass old surly mofo who doesn't suck up to anybody, with a big perma-frown painted on my mask just to make it absolutely clear to everbody who passes by that I'm never happy about anything ever. Or perhaps I'll be a noble Tree Knight whose parents were killed when my village Theethou was razed by Plant-Goblins. Hmm...

Golden...You really must come find me or one of my HO(e)'s. I think you're gonna fit in jsut fine. If I'm not in, send me an email so I can find you. Or you can try to get ahold of Rashan, Pinsao, or Jyudas. Hell if you see any of my lot jsut grab them by the hair and tell them you're looking for me. I can't guarantee how they'll react, but it'll surely get you in my presence
