whats with the lack of weapons in the merceints?

i mean i cant find anything between q150 and q200
and its not easy to find someone willing to take time to craft one, or at least i cant

Its quite easy. Money has no real value. Hence the incentive to put anything in the merchant is quite low. I usually put only my fails in mercheant that nobody else wants.

There's no market - most high level folks use contacts or just get it all from guild crafters. And people don't want choice stuff - they need supreme or at least excellent (who's going to waste those mats on a vendor?). It's not worth it going to the trouble of making decent weapons and putting them on the vendors when they never sell.

Also ... make sure you in a town that supports that ql :D

Not all towns sell all ql items.

Actually I have seen many people with this problem. Not using the merchants just decays the economy of the game world. When I craft I try to put 2 of my best items of each level starting at q20 and working my way up and they sell quit regularly. Seems to me not using them (the vending system) is just another way of holding the game back even further than it allready is.

when I play and I am not using the mats I get to grind, I make q10+ to qx items and put them on market until I am out of mats, all made with choice, usually not modi or above either, simply because those use even more mats to make the same item

but thats more rare lately considering my play habits, and thats only so that others can have items that are not normally on market by themself

it would be nice if the 'generic' basic mat was back on market like in beta

I have found this to be a problem as well :( . Hasn't been too bad for me personally as the guild has some great crafters(cheap plug) but sometimes you'll want something from a different race or an "unpopular" item like a mace and then you're just SOL.

Thing is, when I started my crafting I realized how hard it is to get good mats and now I have a new found respect for the whole profession. With degrades and chance of failures going up as the higher you go it makes more sense to craft the best items on request or for guild.

My only worry is this is going to get worse when Outposts are implemented as then a competitive guild will withhold their crafters from putting stuff out there to keep an advantage :|

They already do this. Or charge insanely high prices for high level .. junk.

well that bites since no one wants to make me a sword, and im getting tired of asking.
so im stuck with a q150 sword till i get to q210? wonderfull.
