Sound issues ~after~ quitting Ryzom

Yeah, its not directly game-related.

WinME with a Creative Labs SB Audigy LS card.

Sound is fine in-game, but upon leaving applications like WinAmp make no sounds. I have yet to seek newer drivers but wanted to know if anyone else had this issue?

(yes, a re-boot clears it up, just trying to avoid that)
