There where many people around chrismas waiting for Blizzards game release. I guess most of them are gone now.

The MMORPG market is increasing a lot. EVE is second best rated game now.

3 high rated games are atm in the queue for release. From reading different forums it seems that ppls want clanwars.

- WoW -> After getting to higher levels there is only battlefield or teaming aginst named bosses left.

- Clan wars -> no1 rated game in the queue. Well, the title says all

- Dark and Light -> no2 rated game in the queue. Although many crafting things available it will be about clan wars, cause one can conquer a whole kingdom there. I my eyes greatest rival for SoR ever

- D&D 3D online -> no3 rated game in the queue. Oldie but goldie. Nice gameplay with a long and prooved history. Now in very cool 3D graphics on MMORPG server.

When looking on WoW, Clanwars and Dark and Light its obvios what ppl want and that outpost will offer a possibility to have some of this gameplay in SoR too :D

SoR is IMHO a niche-game par excellence. What ever Nevrax will do, the will never get as many ppl on their servers then some of the more mainstreamed games.

No offence meant :-)

SoR is (after a few weeks in AO but not liked it very much) the first MMO I really play. tbh, it has all I want from a game.

- A storyline that I *can choose* to be part of
- Full freedom in what I want to do (even though from a functional perspective some differences in races would be nice)
- Players that are nice, very little lamers around.
- CRS team that is awesome.
- Nice graphics.
- A mature audience.

Really all this doesnt make me eager for another game...

I see Ryzom as a 'niche', almost cult, style game.

The players really do have a large say in what goes in to.

I see Atys as the foundation to an epic game (thinks back to how simplistic warcaft was for Blizzard so 10+ years ago). All the beta stages made the game stable enough for release. The first 6 months have allowed Nervax to build an inter-company infrastructure to support a game of this type.

YES - we have paid for the foundations, but TBH what a huge amount of fun we have had doing it!

The one thing I have noticed about Nervax, is their staff truely care about their work. I remember in the FBT the DEV team did something silly like 3000+ dev hours in a couple of weeks to fix issues. With the new controls they are adding, the testers added and the feedback loop they have provided this kind of commitment to its customers is still there :D

Yes they are still letting bugs slip in, gumbles along with everyone about the team bar bug, but hey I personally expect a fix before the end of the week! Lets see if they can meet these high customer expectations.

I see the next version 'planet 2' rivaling the bigger companies. :D

Last time I was in tryker nobbland, there were like 10 people around (including kyerna :) ) that was like one week ago or so. The bad thing is, that we loose a lot of people because the system which is great in a long run, is too difficult for them. Simply put WoW has a great manual and the initial tasks help you understand the (very simple) system. It's good we have people like kyerna (*bows*) who help the newbies make the first steps. I can only encourage Nevrax to write a new manual since it is imperative to explain new players what and how they should do.
Maybe I just make a new character and spend some hours a week babysitting noobs...

Had the same idea this morning. Was thinking about giving Psylo a little sister :)
and spend some time a week on noob island.

She even might outrun him du to some mysterious additional knowledge :D

Hopefully we are not the only ones there. Trying to help each other ;)

Was thinking the same, for about a week now. Could even do some recruiting :D (actually, afaik, this is already happening by some)

***edit***
No, for about several months actually...
