Q and A: Part 3? My question

You explained load times really well in the last Q&A update. My questions is realted. Is there any way that I can increase the amount of memory that is used by Ryzom. It seems to use a set amount (around 500-600 MB) this leaves my machine with over 1GB of memory free. I would love to be able to make use of this and improve my gaming experience.

Two others while I am here now that I think about it. Is there plans for my 'speed' of travel to be affected by any of the following: the type of armor I have on, the amount of bulk in my bag, my dexterity, my strength or lastly my race(Tryker, Matis, Fyros, Blue).

You posted about race specific abilites in an earlier post, can you give some insight into the things you are planning to differentiate the races?

OK, last one, Big help here to grow the community:
Is there any plans internally to produce some really good Begineer documentation. This seems to be te biggest barrier to overcome for the new people that I have seen. The interface, and how to do stuff is very very daunting at first. It would be cool for there to be NPC's that taught you how to edit Actions, with like a step-by-step tutorial. Since I can't let them see my screen and guide them through it, I imagine an NPC could be implemetned to train new users on topics. Other ideas would be havin the trainers explain the skills available a little more, maybe have a 'wizard' type interface that helps you choose until you are higher level. Maybe it could even show you where it went on your shortcut bar. Or pop it up as an icon and let you ddrag it wherever you like, to the appropriate shortcut bar.

Just my thoughts.

That would be nice

That would probably be a godo thing to implament. I played one game where they did this. When you started off you would have to go through 'training' and the npcs would teach you all about fighting, healing, basically all the essential elements to playing the game. If you already knew how to do it you could fly through it w/o paying any attention at all. I dont think you should really have to go through training in the beginning but it should be available for them to do and very prominent when they first start out.

Earth and Beyond *moment of silence* had an interactive tutorial which you had the option of doing or skipping. Along the way, as you played, there would be in game annoucements from your race leader NPC to report for new instructions. You would be sent from one NPC to another, each with their own story to tell, in a mission so you learned the back story as well as a new skill.

As much as I would love to see this game take on missions the same way Earth and Beyond did I don't see it happening. From the way they have the quest system centered around the encylopedia, it's very clear that it's never going to be used to tell the story in a pro-active way. Instead it will just teach you background information. I also don't think this game will ever feature NPC's that have unique personalities or that seem to have a life of their own. Basically I think the way the story here will be told is by articles on the website and through events. If you want a story which you can really interact with (like Earth and Beyond) you will probably have to wait for another game.
