development and testing process

First, a BIG thank you to Xaviar for providing us the first glimsp of Nevrax development process and a hint of the contents to come.

I was especially happy at the utter most honesty in the report in admitting that the patches since launch were a bit less than desired, and understandable because Nevrax has rushed the code to realease without intensive testing due to lack of testers and a rigoruous release cycle. I am glad that this problem has been (hopefully) addressed.

Rites:

This is good news. So we can expect about 5 rites every 2 to 3 weeks. I can guess that after a time, the number of rites released will be faster than any single players can complete them. This is good, because then players will have things left undiscovered to try to solve. Hopefully these rites also get better and better as they are developed (more complicated, more dazzle snazzle).

Outposts

While I am glad that I can see this thing slowly being progress, it looks like the actual first realease of Outposts features won't be for at least another 3 months, according to your rough estimation. This is quite a long time, and a lot of players will be gone by then, especially since their main reason for staying was in hope that Outposts are being released soon.

Maybe you can release something to do toward getting outposts to keep the Outpost-Waiting-For-ers occupied, such as releasing the prerequesits it take to obtain a specific outpost. What are needed to get outposts? Fames? Certain Missions? Number of people in Guild? etc

Dev report

All in all, I am very glad for this initial dev report, and hoping for more info to come. Already, Xavier, you have ease my heart and mind with the small glimsp into the Nevrax family.

Oh hey, I forgot about the Events tools.
E] Events

This is still part of our main focus, as they help moving the story of
Atys. Different teams of event managers are dedicated to the
organization of global and shard based events.

During the last month there has been an ongoing improvement of the
events. They already became richer, broader and last longer.
Nevertheless we aren't yet at the stage we want to reach, however a key
step is about to be finished : on the 7th of March the event managers
from the different support companies will visit Nevrax in Paris to get
the first set of tools developed especially for the events and their
improvement. After the necessary training period where they will
familiarise themselves to their new tools, which will help to increase
the number of events in-game as well as their quality.

Also future events will have a stronger focus on the background story
and life on Atys, including religious customs, politics death and
rebirth, along with the Kami and Karavan conflict.
That's awesome! Let's see Takashi get us some cool events going now eh? We will surely yell at him after this if he doesn't ;)

I agree. His job was announced on the 23rd and on the 26th he puts out a very imformative article. I am especially happy that he explained about the testing. While I'm not happy about their testing so far at least now I understand why it wasn't what it should be.

Very impressed, its explained alot and I personally am alot happier.
The content was realistic and honest, we certainly wouldnt and dont get that sort of reply from Sony or Blizzard.

Im looking forward to Outposts, and ones that work :)

Agree with all this. In another thread, tetra and others are minimizing what Xavier is doing. I think he's off to a good start, and criticism at this point is not warranted.
