Shame? Now granted I am not doing this but I see no big deal with this. I mean if i went by your standerd then a merchant from france could not buy goods from a merchant in the US and sell them in his shop in France. I dont know where he is putting the stuff up for sale. I always get em in thesos or dyron. If those are the only places then the rules of export apply. it is a good thing that his jewelry is being sold in other lands. Helps others who cant get to fyros get his goods. Haddo may not have time to run to all lands and drop jewels on vendors. So the resellers are kinda doing all new players a favor the way i see it. Sure they may be making money off Haddo but I am sure Haddos not going broke.

I was looking for a Haddo Original today as well... I commend those that brought capitalism to the marketplace. The few that took advantage of Haddo's generosity and hard work and tacted on an extra 100-400% for their greed. Granted they risk a lot of venture capital and risk alienating future customers. Supply vs. Demand... control the supply and you control the price. The sad part is people are buying at these inflated prices which will only spur them to continue this practice... at least until the market balances out. Remember, Buy Low, Sell High! Set the price too high and you'll have a lot of inventory that won't move. When the depreciation hits I'll be there to pick up the "going out of business" bargains. Buyers Beware!

Am I mad that I didn't think of it first? No, I already passed on the idea. What does that make me? Not a very good venture capitalist. Then again I don't buy Nikes for $150 when I know they cost $2.50 to make. But I buy a pizza for $12.50 that costs $4.00 to make. As a consumer I exercise my right to buy or not to buy.

Unfortunately they didn't stop at the "good deed" of making Haddos available in other lands. They also bought up Haddos stock in Fyros and placed it back on the Fyros market at an even higher price than the regional markets. Typically wholesaler-retailer, import-export relationships are formed where each party is aware of the marketing strategy. Gouging the customer base doesn't do Haddo any favors.
Hopefully this practice will be short-lived and will spur others to get into the grind and increase our options.

If you read what I stated they had bought ALL of the goods and then greatly inflated the prices and then they put them back on the fyros markets. This clearly adds no value, althought I do agree that if a person bought "some" of his jewels and put them on other land vendors they could claim they were adding "value" by transporting said goods.

If you were to make an example then it should be:

A merchant from france bought all the goods in the US market then inflated the prices and turned around and sold them on the US market where there was no other source (since they had bought ALL goods)].

The US has antitrust legislation that protects consumers from such predatory practices. Namely the Sherman act and Clayton act enacted by the US are clear examples that behaviour such as this needed to be prevented in the US economy. There have been several high profile cases on price fixing in the US in recent years.

Yes sorry I did not really notice the "ALL" in your post. Also did not notice the "reselling them in fyros" in your post.

That is lame that they are buying "all" of his stuff then reselling it "in fyros" at a high mark up.

I've noticed the same thing happening occasionally when I dump a packer or three of mats on a vendor at a reasonable grind price. Yes it's nice that I got the money, but I put them there so someone could grind off them not so someone could reprice them. Rather annoying to be honest, this is not like selling yettin parts in fyros/matis/tryker or some other PR+one surface continent mob parts in a land they don't come in, it's just an annoyance.

Haddo won't be happy to hear about this when he gets back.

I do know Haddo has said, in game, that his wares can be bought and resold in other lands: Tryker, Matis and Zorai, but not resold in Fyros.....especially in Tryker because there is a lack of good jewelry there.

I hadn't been on in three days due do a nice food poisoning I recieved, but I do know most of last week after Haddo had went on vacation that he had already addressed this issue. I hadn't seen any of his jewelry and wares being resold in Fyros at ridiculously marked up prices when I logged out Wednesday morning at around 9am est so I'm assuming that this has happened since then. Rundll and I, I'm Dekkert in game, were talking about this Tuesday, and I do know for a fact Rundll had talked to Haddo about this as well as several other people. I had also talked to Haddo in Thesos on Monday night before he left as he was letting everyone know to "stock up" as he will be gone for a week, and he reiterated about buying and reselling his wares and what he approved of and didn't.

I'm about to log in and play till I collapse on the keyboard, and I hope there is some jewelry still left because my current set is about to wear out.

This is such an abomination!!!! There should clearly be a way in-game to use the merchant system as a player to prevent fame-based sales as well as clearly marking certain people as not able to buy your goods. (Although this is easily circumvented with another person in on your deal, The list would grow and it would become clear who are the black market hawkers!)

P.S. A publishing of the 'black market hawkers' names would be nice to see.
