Hi, i post this here, cause it is a patch related prob (I hope)

On last monday I clicked "check data" in the login window.
After 10 mins the check was done...... and nearly every file was "corrupted".
(I had no problems with the game, just wanted to try the new button ;) )
It said it would patch the missing data the next patch...
Ok. I logged in again... and it started.
And it runs.
Till now..... some 7 hours with a constant download rate of 110 Kb/s...
?????? Ryzom some 15 GB?
I wanna play. but i cannot reinstall cause I dont have the CD´s here.
Ok. I thought maybe there is a virus or anything crazy - nothing.
Error with harddrive or ram or chipset - nothing.
Error with windows - I´ll never know ;)
Ryzom recover.exe - does not work.

Anyone else had this prob?

ehh why did you download a "patch" for 7 hours when you can download the entire game ? You don't need the cds to perform a reinstall :D

When most of the files somehow corrupted the chance is very high that you currently download the complete game. No, its not 15 Gig ist only about 4.5 Gig.

The installer ist compressed and only 1.2 Gig in size.

Now, that you started the "repair" you should not interupt it. For the future i recommend to make a backup copy of the complete Ryzom folder. This leaves you always a second option...

Or you keep the installer and the dir "saves", move you screenies when deleting the current dir and a reinstall will only need to download patches.

But I cannot start to think why all files are corrupted. Can be because of some outerspace filesystem you use. FAT16? The files are (probably) checked using some checksum. If I find *all* files to be corrupted, I would rather do a total reinstall instead of a repair.

Same here. Probably some antique filesystem compression tool or a custom FS like running ryzom_client with wine or cedega on Linux.
