I was busy and decided not to play Sunday, lo and behold there was a server glitch and Ryzom was down sunday , no big deal until.......
Ppl from my guild and 3 other guilds log in and find their guild disbanded and their guild hall wiped out, doesn't even exist and everything in the guild hall GONE
We've reformed our guild , but we had to grab a different name, because another guy remade our guild first before our guild leaders could do it, and he tryed to petition to get the guild hall and guild hall contents back under his name, and he wasn't even in the guild at the time of the server glitch.
Rumor has it his petition was turned down, but ours is still pending..
Loss of a guild hall----- 10 mil dapps
money in guild hall at time of loss---- 2 mil dapps
market value of items stored in guild hall ---- 2 mil dapps
This really sucks and i hope they fix it, i don't want to see my guild have to save up for another guild hall, just to see another random server glitch come and wipe it out......

Now an officer in Order of the Dragon

You didnt tell a whole lot here. Something about losing your guild to the other guys because of a patch? How did that happen? Did your guild deside to disband while you were gone? Did the patch disband your guild? Who is the other guy?

We are in a similar situation. No Guild Chat, forums, tags...
Almost all of our guildees are active so we know its not an issue in from inside the guild that caused this. We have not formed a temporary guild in case this would cause problems, but the longer it takes the more frustration builds.
Im glad to hear this didnt affect all ofthe guilds, i can only say that would have been a catastrophe. Did they test this patch on the ATS? If not, then what the heck is it for?

the server glitch disbanded the guild and 3 others.
The other guy was a former guild leader who left.

Stupid question I know, but how many members were in these guilds that got nuked?
Under 10? under 50? under 100?
I am ONLY speculating, but could it be possible that if a guild has less than X members, the devs decided to blow away the guilds?
Again, I know, insane, but all other mmo's I have played started this trend a few months into the game because they sited that guilds required X amount of people or it would get nuked.
I wouldn't ask this if I hadn't seen it in the past with other games.

Seems there was a bug after last patch were some guilds were gone as if they did not exist.
Seems that someone that was aware of this bug and the trouble the poster and his guild were having set up a new guild with the old guilds name and fraduently attempted to get the old guild (and the hall and gear/money in hall) put back with him having access. Bugs will always happen and I was glad to hear the fake guild person got turned down on the petition. However I cant believe that someone would try such a thing in our community. Moreover I believe that person should have been punished in someway.

Aye Ronin, I agree with you, thats theft, no matter how you look at it, first stealing a guilds name do to a bug, then trying to petition for the hall and assets.
That just wrong.
In one aspect, you could think of it as trying to abuse an exploit, or it could fall under the rules in the EULA for exploit abuse, I mearn seriously, abusing a bug that causes problems of this magnitude to try to further his own greed.
Sick

My guild has only 5 members, but it's still around. Gladius Jenae had twice that, and it's gone. So I don't think it's the number of people.

light of maduk, had 85 members in when it was wiped out.
Order of the Dragon, (our new guild) has 35 members now
The person that took the old guild name , was a former guild leader who stepped down from leadership and quit the guild, but then this happened and i guess he saw an oppurunity to get the guild back. But rightfully the lost items nad stuff (if it does get replaced) should go to the guild leader at the time the guild was killed by the server in the first place
