Great Jeena! Macro's have solved my problems!

A tiny problem, but yet a very important one to me. I wanted to change the standard chat shortcuts that now pop-up when you press alt-1 to alt-0. These are weird, but hey, they had to put in something. I submitted tickets, I tried looking in keys_Frydeswinde.xml, all to no avail...

And here comes [one of the guides, sorry I forgot your name] and he guides me to the light. A macro can do this, and you can give it a shortcut to use with alt-(1-0). It works like this:
- new macro
- new rule
- chat
- talk to everyone
- talk in [channel or mode]
- type what you want to appear there.

The first I made is my battlecry:
Frydeswinde shouts: Death from below! Here come the Tryker!

The second is nicer, also in around:
Frydeswinde says: Please don't harm the Yubo's.

The third is a private guild thing, you would understand....
The fourth is in guildchat:
Frydeswinde says: Grats!

I should have known this earlier and now I know, I share it with you people here. I hope you will as much fun with it as I am having :-)

Other nice chatting tip:
- shift-arrowup works like doskey (or arrowup in *nix shell)

Grtz,

I've been meaning to make a load of macros for shouting a various mix of warcries, screams and useful team feedback, although procrastination has got the better of me so far.

I might have a little think today and produce a load of the ones I was planning, now that I'm feeling suitably inspired :)

I couldnt live without my macros, as a mage I find particuarly useful:

Target entity: playerxx <-- who is pulling mobs
Then as you can have a chain of commands on 1 macro:
Target Target's target

Meaning I target the target of the person who is pulling mobs for my team so I can cast my spells quicker :)

The targets target is nice but if it would only work when you where more then 25 meters away from both targets. As it is now, as a healer, i want some distance from the tank/mob to avoid it taking a swing at me. Casting works to 50 meters, but the target current targets target does work like that.

Whenever I have used target's target I can always select a mob targeted 50m+ away from me Oo

I see the same problem as Aina, Assist simply does not work properly for me, or does not use the same max. range restrictions as casting (and other fight actions max. range, such as taunt).

Several times I've tried to use Assist on a team mate, and the target has remained on my team mate. Repeated attempts to Assist after fighting commenced gave the same (no) result, basically indicating that my target had no target - which is obviously incorrect, since he was still bashing away on a mob :)

Strangely enough, Assist was working fine for me until recently...

*ponder*
*considers stealth feature break*
hmmm...
*fetches coffee* :)

Yes that is does, the first time it works, but when you want to switch back to that mobs target it fails. The target remains the mob and not the one that is being hit form that target eg, my healing target. I had a little chat about it with a guide and learned the range is 25m.

I love my tank but sometimes I want to stay a little out of the way, especialy if there are more then 1 mob. With events like the invasion it is verry hard to see who is being hit, the team bar is not that fast on updating and casting bomb (spray? richochet?) somewhere in the fray is a solution, selecting with the mouse is laggy (have to leave keyboard, find the cursor in the hail of spell's going off on my screen select target)

with alot of people around, like in a event/trip I can't make a 20 macro's for everybody either. The function is there, and should work in the same range as the spells I can cast. eg 50 meters.
