Time for some humor

Ok lets try to bring a smile on someone's face instead of breaking out the cheese or flames.

Post your or a friends silly moments here and share the fun. I'll start.

Recently I submitted a bug report because after teleporting to Avandale, I attempted to buy a ticket and nothing showed up in the teleport window. Promplty submited a bug report that the Avandale teleporter may be broken as I could not buy a ticket. The GM on duty promplty responded and informed me that was something that nobody else had reported. I thus went to Davae and no tickets there either. Lastly I tried Yrkansis and still no luck. The GM was perplexed and I was a bit concerned at this point. Since this problem was not a known bug we tried running recover with little hope it would work (but hey at least it would remove that as a fix). Recover did nothing and we were still both very confused and the GM asked me what I had done between the last time I bought a ticket and to the point I could no longer by a ticket. Then it dawned on me....I had set my price filter to 10,000 dappers and forgot to set it back upwards....

An hour or so later I could buy tickets again and play normally :P I felt silly and could only imagine the GM pulling out his hair....

This one time.. in Fyros... I wanted to know if a packer would port with me, so I petitioned a GM to find out if it was possible. (longer story than this as to how my packer got to Fyros from Yrkanis, but thats a different thread)

GM stated that it 'might' be possible but he didn't know, but for me to stand as close to my packer as I could then use my teleport ticket to try it.

I had him watch me as I performed this miracelous feet.

Poof off I go to yrkanis.. my packer.. well, he went orbital.

No one could find him, no one could go to him, and according to his coordinates he was in the bird house.

Basically so far off any map that it would be impossible to get to him.

Weeks later, they gave him back to me, well.. in the middle of Fleeting Gardens, and a place full of possible agro, without warning.. (yea they thought it was funny)

So I rallied supporters from all over the land (thanks to all who participated) and ran him clear back up to Yrkanis!

YAY

This happened to me as well, but it was during the trek to Fyros. Not as funny when you are in a land that you can't get to by yourself. I still think this is a bug, albeit a slightly different one than described. The bug is that the transporter should either allow you to change that filter OR they should ignore that filter. But to use the filter, but provide no way to change it is a bit problematic.

It especially sucked in Thesos, because we didn't stop in town; we stopped at the Karavan teleporter and I had to run into town dodge predators I knew were out of my league.

after the last patch, i read the patch note "You will no longer get DP from mobs that doesn't give you experience", and misinterpreted it, as did my guild leader. He was also skeptical, saying the devs "always lie" and "nothing will work the first time".

So to test it out for my guild leader, I went outside of Pyr and taunted and aggro'ed about 20 suckling yubos and izams. I had an army of yubos and izams chasing me (my leader found it amusing) and they eventually killed me.

I spawned.

Your death penalty has reached 250000. You have recovered 0. Sucker!

(the last bit was from my guild leader, but not in the same words :P )

I shook my fists at the devs.

Heh - I can beat the death by yubo story.... I hadn't upgraded my acid spell in a long time so I had a lot of catching up and SP's to use - went with vampirism and a big acid level and everything. I went to go try it out on those lowly cloppers not far from the Kami Altar near Fairhaven and... yep, you guessed it - when I had updated my spell I hadn't clicked learn or something... dang thing killed me and me justa spamming it with acid! :p

Heh heh.

One time in FBT our guild, Tryker Task Force (Euro English), was having a meeting with our GM/leader Lawrence about testing. So he's standing there chatting away and over wander a few Baying Cloppers and start munching on him. He must a had his chat window up big or something as he didn't react at all. So the guild charge into battle and save his butt and at the end come back and all Lawrence has to say is something along the lines of "why aren't you people listening!"

Well it was a laugh at the time :)

Also Taki teleporting in to investigate tickets in what looked like his pyjamas was pretty funny.

This, I think, will always be my favorite story about Ryzom... "The things we said at release!"

A few things that we now now as facts, just for reference:

Mats higher than QL20 are not found on refugee island (except mission mats)
Mats better than Choice are not found on refugee island.
The preorder Armlet of Atys was bugged (some knew this, some didn't)

Well, it was the first week or so of release, and as we all know - MMO's are released with bugs. First being the preorder Armlet of Atys wasn't working properly, and some of us were aware of this situation - while others were not. Honestly, those of us that did know, made fun of those that didn't. In fact, there was a bit of a running gag between a few of us in region back then...

New player: Where's my item for my preorder?
Other player: It's invisible.
New Player: What is?
Other player: The Armlet, it's invisible, and if you equip it - you'll be invisible too!
New Player: but I can't see it in my inventory!
Other player: Because it's invisible!
*time passes*
New Player: Ouch! I died and didn't even see what killed me...
Other player: I guess a Clopper looted an Armlet of Atys off someone...

Then again, since the Armlet of Atys was bugged - some people thought for SURE Nevrax had messed up with the mats...

"Where can I find materials higher than QL20?"
"They aren't in game yet."

The above can also be for higher than choice materials. Ah, how I miss the days of ignorance... I wonder what else is in this game, that we haven't found, but are sure is bugged simply because we haven't done enough to find it :D

Did the same as did some of my guildees, feathers were being spit all over and rocks being cast at the nearest guides.

Several days ago, we were hunting yelks in Bog, using low level skills with a team of 3-4... We pulled a nettled yelk and mummy yelk came to help. We managed to kill them both, and as soon as I finished typing "uh, that was close", I realized the toxic cloud had wiped the full team :)

Now, everytime I kill a yelk, it is fun to see me flee...
