How many mission do you have to do to get an increase in personal fame? Seems I have done a number of them and there has been no change. Also is there a max or min fame level?

I think I did every kill and delivery mission and the lvl 10 armor and weapon quests in every camp and my fame with my own race is 22 so far :)

How did you do the delivery missions? Everything I try one I never get the item in my inventory (and yes I do take it).

I guess the trick is that you need LOTS of free space, watch if you get the "no room in inventory" msg in the system window.

Funny though - one time when I chose 3 deliveries at once and NONE had place in my inventory but I didnt abandon the mission....as soon as I had even a BIT of space the window where I got offered the parcels originally poped up again without me having still ENOUGH space. Was so annoying I had to abandon the missions.

PS: theres a *bit* of a similarity in our name - maybe you like anagrams too? ;)

That is known as the Sap Crystal bug, three items cause it: Sap Crystals, Crystalized Spells and Mission Items (as you've found).

There are two work arounds:
1) Relog, the item(s) should appear in your inventory when you log back in but sometimes they remain in limbo.
2) (preferred method) Immediately craft and take any item, both the crafted item and the missing Crystal/Mission Item will now appear in inventory.

After crafting an item, you can create as many crystals or take as many mission items as needed. The bug will return, however, as soon as you start quartering kills again; so, keep junk materials on hand to quickly craft a new item to fix the problem until a permanent patch happens.

The Sap Crystal bug can lead to another, more serious, problem: Craft system failures, which means you can no longer craft. This usually happens when you have taken a large number of mission items/created a large number of crystals and not having them show in inventory. The best analogy is that there is a temporary inventory (for lack of a better term) that becomes full and your bag in now useless except for quartering.

There is also a work around for this problem, follow the steps below:

1) Craft an item
2) Immeditately click the drop all button (or is it cancel with CTRL+S and drop all, been a while since I dealt with this but one of the two does the trick)

That will reset the temp inventory and you can craft/take items again.

Some missions are definately worth more fame than others too.

Newbie island missions are worth very little fame.

Missions without a dapper reward are worth much more fame than those with.

Plus more challenging missions (higher level) tend to be worth more fame as well.

they brought me from fame 16 to 22 in 3 days which is a plus of about +35% and not bad imho.

The real issue is the gratitue of the mission giver. If the gratitude is expressed in dapper, little fame gain. If the mission giver will be grateful then you get good fame gain, if the mission giver will be very grateful then you get excellent fame gain.

You'll also notice that on the mainland there are NPCs in the other villiages/outposts who should give missions but won't even talk to you. As your skill levels increase, you will find that suddenly some of these NPCs will start giving you missions. Don't mistake a NPC who doesn't think you're ready for a mission for an NPC that is broken. (You can check this by right clicking and asking the NPC who he/she is.)

Maximum (Global) fame with any faction is 100 (confirmed)
Not confirmed, but i suspect Individual and Guild fame will also have a maximum of 100.
(also not confirmed, minimum fame levels would be -100)
