Losing the Connection (and my patience!)

Hi
This is a similar thread to some on here yet with a subtle difference
I get whilst playing in the game after half an hour or so the please wait box pop up and then it stays and ruins my gaming experience
I presume this means i have been disconnected
I have heard it could be to do with firewalls, norton, or my even linksys router.
I have tried disabling firewalls and norton and the same problem persists.
Anybody have any suggestions?

try running the klients chat before starting ryzom and keep it running in the background, also try opening the mail window

Don't know if you've tried this, but try completely closing Norton. End task it completely. Norton is notorious for being a royal pain.
Just as a test you might try doing the same to your firewall.

:-/ Never go anywhere without your AV and firewall.

Its something to test though. If those are what is causing the problem, I can suggest others that won't cause a problem.
And actually I turn my AV off when I'm playing. But then the only thing I have open is Ryzom when I'm logged in. But my firewall is on.

*blinks*
I had disconnects myself, but I didnt have any last friday. The friday the server was rebooted and I entered Klients. Didnt close it afterwards. Didnt had disconnects.
Still, the disconnects are not Ryzom only, my total internet connection is out, no mail, www or whatever. Now I know the providers are working on the network the coming months...

the problem here is, ryzom only communicates via udp packets, while klients uses tcp, some routers or isps seem to disregard udp and treat it like silence on the line and thus close it after a while of nothing

As I stated before, the disconnecting for me is:
- linewide, so no communication is possible at all, by any program.
- new in the latest patch of patch2 (no, version 44 did it)
- also possible it comes from network maintenance (will check the ISP's site for that)
Grtz,

Allow me to test tonight, I will run the game with Klients opened. Whatever the result, I will post. If no disconnects, run you game with it open. If disconnects, back to the drawingboard and a rerun tomorrow without it opened.
