Fame and Symbols.

So after having the guild I was in merge with one I wouldn't join, I took a look at the Guild Clerk in Fairhaven. Well, after looking at symbols for an hour - I had to go to the website (some symbols appeared to be missing...), here is what I came up with.
First, I already knew this one but it was an interesting reminder. Everybody needs to go IN GAME and look at the symbol floating over the Kami if you don't know it already.
Look at the Tryker Symbol here .
Now look at the
Kami symbol on the website. Even click on it, and look at the symbol
without the flashy colors
I think we can conclude that the spinning Kami symbol is, without a doubt, the Tryker symbol.
Secondly, when creating a guild, it seems that - with regard to symbols - one of two things is true:
a) Your fame with a particular race or "higher power" factors into whether or not you can use their symbol or not. I have access to Tryker, Kami, and
Fyros symbols - but the
Zorai,
Matis and
Karavan symbols are nowhere to be seen.
b) I have yet to see any guild crest with a Zorai, Matis or Karavan symbols, so it is possible that these symbols are not actually available.
Note: I DO have a symbol with a tree and its roots, but it is clearly not the symbol of the Matis.

Awsome post. I'm not the guild leader but we are working towards fame of a few particular factions. I was wondering if you know anything about the possibility of changing the symbol once we have achieved a certain level of fame with a particular faction.

I thought you had left the game...
I've cancelled, BTW. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Sorry bout that, I took a rather unexpected trip to visit my mother in December, exhausted my funds and was forced to cancel the subscription without being able to get ahold of anybody. It's sad to see you go, it was nice being welcomed into the guild as it was.

I don't believe this is possible. I imagine if you wanted to break up the guild and reform with a new symbol then that's definately something you can do - but I imagine you knew that. However, now that I've chosen a symbol and have a new guild - I am unable to see the guild symbols that would otherwise be available to me, nor do I have a way of testing to see if there are other symbols associated with fame.
If a homin in good standing with the Karavan, Matis or Zorai that is unguilded were to talk to the guild clerk, perhaps they could find which racial symbols are available.
Another note, there were three empty blocks when I had the symbol view open, and there are the three symbols I did not have access to at the time - this makes me think it is in fact fame related.
If one wanted to create a guild with a particular "higher power" or racial symbol, to make sure they are in good favor with them. Still, I have no proof, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure.

I have to disagree. I don't have an artists eye, but I can clearly see the Kami and Tryker symbol are not the same. Yes they both have circular attributes and lines that point, but that's where it ends. The Kami symbol looks more like a star that belongs on top of a Christmas Tree where as the Tryker symbol looks like it has wings like an eagle or an Indian Dream Catcher.

But the spinning Altar present at most locations in Atys where a Kami teleport is has a very keen resemblance to that of the Tryker symbol present on the Lore page. That you cannot deny.
Not insinuating anything here, just pointing this out.
This a tough one, do you take it as truth that we both use the same symbol? If so, why? We are supposed followers of the Karavan.
Oh and Neina, welcome back.

True the altar symbol does look simliar, but not the one that is listed here. I myself don't take that as truth that it is the same. I do think there is possibly some influence, but from whom to whom. I don't know about you, but I have to ask myself, why is the tp symbol different than what's listed here then? As for following who, I personally would like more info before I make any kind of a decision.

I think the Tryker race built the teleporters and the Kami overthrew them and called it there own because they lack one major thing, Technology.
Kami are not Technological beings, there magical, therefore, they can not create altars of any kind imo that would be considered a 'teleporter'
They lack the knowledge.
Since the Tryker follow the Karavan, it is more likely that they sought to make there own means of travel, considering the history between them and the Matis, then they built the teleporters, and the kami saw a way to overthrow them, and called them there own.
Possible twist to the storyline there.

Well they do have magic so they could of formed something that way, imbued those crystals or something, but... the thought that crossed my mind the Kami could of even fashioned the tp symbol after the Tryker to try to lure Tryker's away from the Karavan by making them think there might be some historical link there. After all we are still discovering our history.

You don't think the Kami have the power to transport themselves from one place to the next in an instant? Where do they come from when you mine too much and how do they know it? Seems there has to be some sort of quick transport for that to happen.
I believe that the Kami alters do work on magic. I mean if they have to power to change their forms and appear anywhere on Atys they want, why wouldn't they have to power to send homins places?
