Ryzom

Well I'll make this short and sweet, lately I've been swallowed up by the beast that is everquest 2 and have no interest in playing ryzom at this time. I know I will want to dip back into ryzom at a later date so I was wondering how long after you deactivate your account do your players remain in the server database?. Seeing as I plan to one day return it would be nice if I could not have to start anew as I had built up a very nice character, so if I could know how long I have before my char got deleted that would be swell.

ummm if i'm correct i think it's 6 months but i could be way off base but i remember hearing 6 months, tho you can always use the search function built into the forum cause i know the answer's in the forum

Hmm tried searchin around and couldn't find an answer, perhaps I'm just no good at searchin forums, anyone else have info in this matter?

3 months are guaranteed, beyond that ... only Ma-Duk knows

Your characters are guaranteed not to be deleted for 3 months. After that it is at the discretion of Nevrax.

Cerest, quick question, is the character data on the server that huge that it would matter?

I know in EQ1, your character as long as it was over something like level 10, would remain forever, literally.

I know people who canceled there accounts for years and when they came back and re-activated there account, they had there characters and all there stuff.

Being able to come back and pick up where you left off is sometimes the incentive people use to come back if they leave an mmo.

Maybe its something for the next wish list?

It's just their policy Zumwalt, I'm not sure if it's a size issue but that's just the way it is.

I think I read somewhere that Nevrax was not going to be enforcing the 3 month thing and that they had changed and were not going to be deleting characters for about 6 months or so if ever. But.... the contract only states 3 months so I would not count on your char being available after that. Nevrax could change thier mind again.

Cerest... is there any possibility of them changing this policy officially? It would a very good thing to do, seeing as how they keep em for 3 months already.

You know, I had thought that this had changed. So I searched my own posts and lo and behold I had posted that this HAD changed (you can slap me with a wet noodle for not remembering).

The characters will actually be guaranteed up until 6 months. See my thread below from way back in October when this same question was asked
