hello, I am having a problem it would seem with my patching. I have been dowloading now for over 5 hours. Every ten mins or so the patcher keeps timing out. I got direct addresses from the forum and opened a port in my router. and it is still downloading and stopping. Also I am downloading the same file sized over and over. When I installed the game, the game folder in Ryzom was just over 3gigs in size now it is 4.5gigs in size. It would seem I am downloading something but not what I need to be downloading. Can someone please let me know what I need to do.

Do you have a firewall or anti-virus program running? If so, could you disable those programs?

Additionally, if you're behind a Linksys router, please follow the steps posted in this thread: http://ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=631

I have both of them off and I am still timing out on the download. I also am still downloading the same size files over and over. Everytime i hit retry it starts the process over and begins the same download again same two files over and over. Is there anyone here can tell me what I need to do.

Things I have done.

1. turned off Firewals and anti-virus.
2. Changed settings in my router to accept or allow 1000-3000 TCP and 47851 UDP adresses.
3, Asked in 3 different forums for the same problems. Emailed a direct letter to tech support.
4. Rebooted my computer 5 times.
5. I have unistalled the game and reinstalled it using my 2nd CDrom drive

Things I have not done.
Uninstall it and take the game back to the store I got it. *GameStop*

You might try setting your IP to the DMZ within your router options, at least during the patching process. That's pretty much the only other thing I can think of.

Well I have set my IP address to the DMZ, and it is still timing out after 10 mins or so. I know of nothing else to do and the letter I got back from tech support email only gave me the one option of doing that.

So with that I will check this line once more in the morning, after that I bid you all a fond farewell it was...well was something. Perhaps after a few months or so when all the bugs have been hashed out I will go buy them game again. But I am just about tired of messing with a game for 15 hours just to get it to patch. Thank you all for the advice and helping me try to get things going. I am sure I will run into some of you in WoW.

Are you using dialup (AOL, local ISP, other?) or broadband (cable, dsl, LAN at office, T1, etc.)?

I'm using RoadRunner Midsouth -- http://www.midsouth.rr.com -- in Memphis, TN, and haven't had any problems so far.

Matt the problem is not ryzom. You have a trojan in your computer. I had the same problem once on another game and it turned out to be that virus. It prevents you from doing certain things. Get a different virus checker than norton.
