Magic with Race

is there a certain race thats better at magic casting?

No all the races are the same, but if you read the plans for patch one and two you will see that they are making some differances between races though I have no idea what that might mean.

IMHO Fyros will have andvantages in fighting Skills, Zorai in magic Skills, Matis and Tryker will have advantages in Crafting and Harvesting. The manual gives a good hint.
Till now Races dont have favourable classes.

Well it seems that the upcoming patch 2 will make race distinctions. Any ideas on how they'll do it? Will they make just one race the better at magic or spread it out so that ones good a offensive, ones good at healing, ones good at buffing and the others good at defensive magic?

Thoughts?

I selected my race based more on the background than the fighting / magic sense since it didn't mention race specific bonus' or disadvantages.

I hope the race pros/cons are not that great, I'd hate to be at a disadvantage fighting/magic wise over a decision made on the information available at the time.

btw I think this thread is in the wrong forum :P

I do hope they dont change Fyros to Fighting advantage only :(

Probably they will just change the starting stats for each race. For example one race might get more strength at the expense of more intelligence. This is how most rpgs work. I wouldnt worry too much about it as you can probably get items to make up for your deficiencies.

Well if they make those changes, they will HAVE to make Trykers actually HAVE nodes over Q50.

I think that they should at least allow us, those of us with existing characters, to NOT be affected by those changes. Since there is limited PVP...it is not like "ballancing" will matter for a hill o' beans anyway.

I went with Fyros for ONE reason, the visual clue on foraging is as plain as can be. If you can SEE it, you KNOW where to start looking. And that is better than "try around that tree" in Matis lands (Ok WHICH TREE, there are only a BILLION or so...)

trykers got the shaft coming and going their cue is MUCH harder to see, some mats are more than 200m from town (not much NEED to go THAT far in Fyros lands, I found a CHOICE buo fiber node within 10 m of town)

I believe that they should make us either non-affected by the race changes or let us repick races, I dont want to but, I believe that the option should be given, or otherwise they should just raise our stats. Fx. if you play a Matis as a mage, and Zorai gets magician benefits, you should be given the bonus to those stats which normally would be given to the Zorai even though your are a Matis. I find that the most fair thing to do, cause it is unfair if we are "punished" because of starting out earlier than ppl starting at publish 2, and I DON'T really feel like starting over :D Ill get insane if I have to be on newb island again :D
