Rewards for quests/Missions: Standard 'missions' reward with moolah, albeit not very much moolah because the economy seems to have ballooned out in an unexpected fashion. However, regular missions do also reward with fame. I view these as 'everyday' tasks that shouldn't really be uber loot.

We have had a mission reward for the huge kitin invasion in the past, albeit one where you had to break your wrist to get it with all the clicking.

Events up until now haven't seemed to have been rewarded with anything but fun, however, the last event we attended, the birthday ball with the murder, was rewarded with 4million dappers and some kitin larvae. That's a positive step to me and it makes much more sense to reward special, one off events positively rather than repeatable missions.

Otherwise we have the rites, which also fit the context of the game far better than 'quests'. These are rites of passage, hero quests of a type that reveal special knowledge to us. The reward is the lore in the encylopaedia and the new ability or boost we get from completing it.

So, I think that's already covered and everyone should be able to, at least, do ency missions for two races, if not all four. That's quite a bit to do.

Dungeons: Dungeons don't really fit the Ryzom style or background from what I can see. At least, not yet. If we ever wander the land and find the wreckage of our old cities then perhaps exploring the ruins and VERY rarely finding the odd artefact would be justified but instanced dungeons would really take away from the living world of Atys. I think, I HOPE that you'll have to wait for R2 for such content and I still hold out hope we _won't_ get dungeons.

Group/Guild tasks would be nice but they seem to mainly be coming with outposts.

Raids - we've had a few, and they've been a bit different to cut and paste ones.

Problem with fame for PvP is its so abusable if one isn't careful, it looks like they'll be linking it to conflict areas or events, so that's not so bad.

Ok -

- When I say meaningful rewards I mean something that really makes me want to go out and achieve the mission goal. While money and fame is ok, I think they could address a couple issues with the game with some more varied rewards. I think along with money/fame, xp and items could be rewards wthout throwing the rest of the games system to crap. Depending on what the quest involved (Crafting, killing etc..) you get an xp reward in that area. Money/Fame same. Items...I'm not suggesting ripping off other games and having the "Waving Sword of Brightness" or whatever be a quest reward. Instead how about special pieces. For instance a mace shaft with a -Adversary Dodge/Parry modifier on it. When used by a crafter to make an item you get a boost in that area. Not only providing a tangible reward for your trouble, but also allowing for more customizing of characters. Think about it.

- No qualms about events.

- Raids I'd just like to see more of what they attempted with the bandit raid (that I missed >< ) More than just Kitins bumrushing a city. Maybe throw in a couple elements that could get more than the high level combatants involved.

- Guild tasks could go beyond outposts. A Guild Master NPC (Or someone) could charge your guild with tasks that must be completed in a time frame (Hours/Days/Weeks). Could be as simple as a travel task with checkpoints. Could be as complicated as quest chains leading to new sights/areas/bosses. Rewards: Fame/Dapper/Cosmetic Items/Useful items (Guild Ring - infnite HP ring that TPs you to GH on a timer). Many possibilities here.

- Instances don't fit the game, ok. What I mean is more stuff like the Kitin nest in Desertstock. That thing is diesel. Personally I think Aen is way too easy to get to. She just stands around waiting to be pulled from her guards and gang-blasted. Bosses like her, some Animal bosses and others could be tucked away in special areas (Caves/strongholds/hidden areas). Some you could blast your way to. Others might need entry/encounter requirements (Keys/Bosses favorite Herbivore prey left on an alter thingy as lure). Again, many possibilities. It would add some variety and something that would be a real accomplishment.

I've gone on enough. This is not a suggestion thread. I'm just saying that a lot more in the way of "stuff to do/look forward to doing" could be present. I won't go into the PvP/Fame thing. If you really want to know my thoughts...you know my name IG and out.

A trip to Loria always means starting to dig with DP for me, I can't sneak around that well. But being able to run around the game and risk nothing, to dig in a q250 land with nothing else in mind than being careful of not blowing up my source does not add up to fun for me. I need to be challenged, to know that I outsmarted Fijoo this once, even if next time I might not have time to hit Invuln quick enough.

(off topic) Ok I'v said this before to get to loria with no DP just goto Matis Arena and ask some nice homins to kill you, you then spawn at the HH/Loria spawn point DP free and ready to dig.

Still off topic: Does that work with a duel as well? In which case, anyone in the Matis lands or Tryker lands could just challenge someone to a duel and respawn at that spot. Probably a dumb question, but every duel I've been in has involved a res immediately after.

If Ryzom did what it says on the can, it'd be the best. Well, Nevrax may not be presenting a delivery date for their features, but others are. The first out with the goodies and I'm going there. Some of the candidates are:

30/09/05: Roma Victor: Skill based system, no traditional levels, satellite map of Europe/UK as region, build and acquire enemy forts/houses, no hit points, wierd locational point-and-shoot melee, no silly elves, safe if you're Roman but dangerous in PvP barbaric lands. Complex crafting system to make everything from the ground up (kill the rat get the skin make leather buy pole wrap leather on pole buy blade assemble dagger)

11/05/05: Dark and Light: One huge server for all, no silly instancing, new 'far view' graphics (that really do look stunning), 12 races 14 classes, damn elves, meaningfull PvP and territory, politics and ranks, amazing Eve like intercity economies, battle field command structure, damn elves (but you can play 12 inch high mage fairies!), you can fly and parachute in skill.

No date: Darkfall: Open skills, programmable NPC guards for your guild/towns, non-point spawns, lootable player corpse, bounty hunt wanted bad PCs, world physics for interaction/tactics, NPCs can be employed to gather for you, RTS aspects.

Yes, duel death causes DP for sure.

Yes, but in the Arena, since it's a PvP area, you don't get any DP, just like in the Lands of Umbra.
But then, I already stated I was a little crazy Basic, and even though I know about this way to get there... I find it cowardly ;) . Either you take the risk of harvesting a high quality, or you don't. Getting around the DP by using the Arena is going through a loophole.

Oh, and Psylo, yes, crafting above q150 in Tryker is horrible. But I think all crafters are better harvesters than they are crafters, so your point doesn't hold for me. While harvesting with DP you still get mats, which you can use to craft...
