I cannot answer the 'why' Diggin, but I am sure it wasnt personal.
I dont know how they made the list who to invite, but somebody must have thought about it...

Just turn the question around. Who would you invite if you wanted to get rumours going? Who would you include, and who would you exclude?
Or would you just invite everybody and look what would happened.

As I can only talk for myself, I really liked the way they did it. (ok, ok, i admit i was invited). But it really made me curious, and told my guildmates what happened last sunday.

i know how the list was made on leanon, the two agents travelled the lands and asked for strong guilds or important homins, everyone thought they were newbs who wanted to join a guild when they talked with them ^^
i'd think they just made a list of the answers and invited those

@vutescu: great post! /bow

i had a very lenghty discussion with the agent Syndix in thesos myself he asked a lot of questions(thought he was a noob looking for a guild tbh(nearly asked ras to get ready to have syndix in boot camp :D ), no actuall indication that he was an event char)as my leader is hardly on till the evenings most days so i guess thats why they came to me for that part. and i was in both events to lead them back, and surely to spread more rumor would be good to have someone who actually is active in game and on the forums there ;P

Another point i wish to add...

This "secret" event that some of us got invited to is clearly just the initiator to a whole string of events that are to come.

Word of mouth (which has worked perfectly) ensured that Baijimao of the zorai people could then make Kami statements in the 4 main capital cities. This provoked an intense amount of roleplaying and it is clear that things are hotting up. This also shows how there is something new happening every night.

Raynes, you have clearly quit without realising that the "non-event meeting" is just the warm-up/initiation of the bigger story.

lol that part is funny :) now every time a noob will come to mainland, we will all start wondering.. "uhm... he may be an event char":

noob: hello, I just arrived from Borea :D
rp-crowd: welcome, we rejoice of the last news about Jena coming!
noob: uh? rewhat? can I have some armor?

There is a way to distinguish event and other special characters :)

there wasnt it just said his name above his head he wasnt a halequin of atys or anything like the other event chars and his storyline was this "ive just come from the newbie islands where i work for some people and im trying to get info on the influential guilds in fyros so that i can maybe offer my services to them"

when im sat at thesos stables crafting some exp's to me he sounded like a hardcore RPer who was trying to find a guild suited to him and his RP style lol =/

All I want to say is that if Raynes wants to Quit, then by all means people let him.

For those of you who have bid him farewell, very good job at being mature on this thread, and responding in an intelligent manner.

Now, all of you who are tearing Raynes and others to pieces, calling them childish, and such... get a freaking grip. Raynes is a person, and he can quit if he darn well pleases, for any reason he wants.

I dont care if Raynes blames it on bad game development, or a secret event, or because a yubo took a p*ss on his boots... he is in charge of his accout and can leave if he wants, and does not deserve to be treated like an outcast for sharing his opinion and reason why (even if you dont agree).

I'm done with spanking you people for your childish behavior.

Raynes, I met you once in game, a long time ago. I wish you the best in your future, and am sorry to see you go.

What the hell has happened to the community??? I log back and what do I see? Fanbois fighting with flamers! This was not the way of the Ryzom forums before!

If i must be a fanboi to play this game I will cancel my sub too... Raynes only stated things which are real problems. Denieing them wont help this game. Although I don't share all his thoughts, but this is a game after all, which should mean fun for many people.

I have only one question to you Jyudas, not offending. When did you experience that you could change the world in any way, or that there is any storyline? You always seem to get down to this while defending SoR, and I could never figure out what you mean. I have never experienced this in Ryzom (but had good fun in other things). Could you please share this with me?

Thanx.
