I'm glad you said that. Because if you have a right to look at a forum without a lot of whining, then I have a right to look at a board without a lot of brown-nosing and butt kissing.

I have now finished reading this entire thread, and I it makes me feel like ranting.

If any of you have worked, or are currently working in marketing, you'd know something about word of mouth marketing and how powerful this can be. You'd also know that general bad remarks and/or reviews drive away more people than positive can generate. The thumb-rule for this is that if you make a positive remark about a product or service to ten people, perhaps two of them will try it out. If you however, in the same setting, make a bad remark, it's likely that nine out of ten will never try the product/service you're commenting on.

I feel it has come to this here. The general bad mood in the forums lately are really strong contributing factor to people departing or not joining, and I'm on the brink of taking an extended break as well. The community has changed alot, people are really concerned, and alot of people have just silently drifted away. To tell you the truth; it's just not fun to log on anymore. I always get the feeling that something is wrong, and it is. I constantly go around with a sense of worry in me, and quite frankly, I hate it. When I talk to people in game, it's always the same old thing. "Did you read the forums today?"
The stuff you're posting here are not helping! Please realize that! You might think that you are, but you are da*n wrong. Constructive critisicm on the other hand does. Send in a ticket! I know it sounds stupid, but please don't push your dissatisfactions on to me, because quite frankly, they are heavy to carry, and I am sure alot of people feel the same way. You're actually reaching out to people, use that positively. Reach out to new players and make them stay instead of driving the people in your contact lists away.

I know you can't be blaimed for everything, but remember that every little thing counts. Bad remarks drive people away. Bad remarks makes people who would've loved this game, never try it!

Nevrax is trying, they really are. They're not sitting on their fat bums eating pie. When you have fundamental flaws in the code, it takes alot of time to correct them. Yeah, I know they shouldn't have been there in the first place, but please accept for one second that they are, and realize that they are being fixed!

The only thing that keeps me in game now are my beloved guildies, my fiancé Phantai, and my good friend Ali who shines up Lost Valley with his presence. If one of these people leave, I will most certainly pick up another hobby.

Don't worry too much about what is said here personally. The bulk of negative rant is produced like 4 people. Half of them are basically constructive but their points have fallen into level of spam as same things has been repeated too many times.

We are lucky that Nevrax employees does not participate more into these discussions as they would not have time to develop game. lol.

I think its pretty absurd to link the trend of people leaving to the fact that people are leaving. While I realize that you didn't directly link them, it is somewhat implied. I don't feel that anyone who truly enjoys the game would see the forums and then suddenly decide that they no longer liked SoR. For those who were thinking of trying the game, well, most start with the trial account and decide for themselves.

The forums have always been a source of drama (least on windy, but i assume the same here). It should not be a surprise that all points of view are expressed here. There are those who are willing to express their discontent or their desire for change here, just as there are those who are happy with the way the game is now. The whole range of emotions on the game are covered, and I believe thats something you'll find in any community.

This issue was brought up on the forums before. I said then what I still believe today. The constant complaining and the constant raving are two versions of the same thing. Both groups love the game (if they didn't they wouldn't pay money for it. Its just that simple.), they just go about attempting to make it better in different ways. One points out the positives, hoping that Nevrax would improve upon them and attempt to change the unmentioned negatives into positives. The other points out the negatives in an attempt to highlight the problems present in the game.

So lets get hypothetical for a second. Say the suggestions made in this post of moving critical threads to another section. Lets also remove the brown nosing/butt kissing to a different section. Ok, so what do we have left? some threads on newbie questions. A couple of "hey look what I did" threads. Maybe a couple random questions on mob movement. To me, thats nothing I particularly want to read and doesn't sound really exciting.

In my opinion everyone should have the ability to express their views (repeatedly if they so choose). If you don't want to read it, then don't. Just don't click on the thread. Its just that simple. Putting it in a different section is the net version of putting you fingers in your ears and yelling "LA LA LA LA LA! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!! LA LA LA!".

So, in summary, read the threads you want to read. If you don't want to read about someones thoughts on the game (be they positive or negative) then don't. Simply go on to the next thread.

Ps. Judging by the number of views and comments that some of the threads get, the opinion threads seem to be some of the most popular.

i agree this thread has alot of PoV in it. wether good or bad nevrax can see this topic has a lot of response and undoubtably someone will look in it and maybe... just maybe they might realise they didnt fix the melee bug =/ much more important a fix than the tickets were and still unadressed

When the Windy server/forums were up, we had a few players who expressed their distaste for the speed at which this game was progressing. After the merger, there were a few more since we now had a larger population of people all using one forum. However, it seems to me that the number of people is steadily growing. Even those who loved this game profoundly found themselves posting negatives about it. I, myself, have done so repeatedly. I have some serious doubts about some aspects of the game. Does that mean I dislike SoR? certainly not. Do I care about the game? yes, very much so.

Anyway, it seems pointless to single out a single group. In this "dreamland" you speak of, we might be able to have an all positive forum. However, this is the real world and it comes with both positives and negatives.

uts funny because i see the only people hijacking this thread are the people complaining about the complainers.... you have posted a few times in topics i have posted in mikos and your contribution to the topic is usually complainging about someone complaing.... is that really helping the issue that the person is complaining about get fixed? no... its making nevrax think you want these cock-ups and untill people stop the brown nosing(TM) and the butt kissing (TM) then the complainers wont ever be taken seriously if thats what you want then keep being a fanboi(TM) but when everyones left and your all alone in your beta game have fun my friend
