As I said the game started in September, i'm not sure if the Shalah was in under the canyon since Sept, but surely they was there in December (and in fact, in December some lvl230 ele appeared...) the Devs and the Gms have received 1000+ tickets about this... and the Shalah are still there.
I started as melee, in December was lvl160 something melee and about 22 in offensive affliction... when i saw ppl with 250 title menaced me to kill me in pr (and someone did that) I started to cliffing too...
As the devs and the gms know this "problem" you all know it as well too...
it's an your choice: remain melee and got killed by an ele or go ele you too...

btw 4 me this game is without cheat, cuz the characters are saved on the official server and u can't hack them, u can gain xp, skills and all the rest ONLY playin on the official server... so the word "cheat" sounds stupid (alot...).
u have a world to explore, u have to find best strategies to hunt too.

someone talked about roleplaying and bla bla bla...

soldiers in real life excercise themselves to shoot with rifle on non-live target in a dedicated building... they can increase their skills but surely they can't die cuz the targets can't fight back them.

huntin shalah in ff canyon is the same.

if the devs think different they had to leave them long time ago, or at least put under the canyon mobs that can fight back the attack (like the ranged guards bosses 4 example).
i'm still seeing the shalah in ff canyon but after 2 tickets the devs fast slowed the respawn rate of the great jugs in highgrove... something is wrong here? uh?!

let use cliffing (really boring...) who want, if ppl have fun in this way let them free to do that... noone player-side can determine what is right or what is wrong, only the devs can... and the shalah are still there...

hope to see you all soon ingame with the new american brothers.

If you believe exploiting terrain, killing helpless mobs and generally abusing the STATED "code of conduct" is somehow ok...this is one american who hopes not to see you. I take heart that most here don't condone this kind of behavior and to those that do, you'll have one more person looking over your shoulder...

Your argument seems to be "if they left the mobs defenseless why shouldn't i take advantage of it". I give you a simple analogy. You walk into a jewelry store and see a ring on the counter. The clerk has left it there while she ran to the restroom. If you take it are you stealing? By your logic, if they didn't want you to take it they shouldn't have left it. Well, the answer's easy for me, I see you take it, i'm calling the cops...I see you steal exp in the game(which IS what exploiting is) i'm calling the gm.

For those of who say "live and let live" here, that people should be able to do as they please...I simply ask what if it was your store? Isn't Ryzom your game...

Soldiers training on a firing range, indoors, at motionless targets, is a bad example in this particular case. Sure, the soldier is increasing his marksmanship, learning to control his weapon better. Take that same soldier, now, and throw him into a combat situation, where enemy soldiers are shooting back at him, and he will likely mess his pants. That's why armies train soldiers in live fire exercises, too.

Same will happen here. Train yourself to lvl 250 cliffing. First time you find REAL danger afterwards, you'll have no real idea of what spells to use or what to do, and will likely die. Only advantage you have here: it's not permanent. You can still get up again, and NOW, learn to use those ill-gotten skills that you have. So, you have earned something for nothing. No sense of achievement to hang yer hat on, but that won't matter to some. I, personally, prefer the excitement of the mad dash for survival, and love seeing that level up ding, knowing I've EARNED it.

Just my two coppers.

Sorry, /rant off.
