Hi all :)
Great to see Ryzom is still Alive and kicking!!...As for paying £18.99...Sorry not this Gamer,a lot of online players have at least two game on the go at the same time and to pay £18.99 + other subs would be to much for me!.
Ryzom needs to get new and old players back online again and a price tag of £18.99 Would be a big put-off for many, although i can see the diehards who play Ryzom would pay the Earth to play again ..but good luck anyway :)

iirc jolt csr's were 90% volenteer too, with their own characters. Also some of their CSR's were hardly innocent lambs when it came to stirring up trouble and favouring people. Only difference was the recruitment process wasnt open so alot of people didnt suspect.

as to other posters suggesting f2p I think in my mind this would kill the game for me, within days it would be full of idiots and farmers just like every other f2p.

Well, that pretty much sums up all reasons that speak against f2p and micro-payment. `Nuff said.

i think ryzom can succeed on paid subscribers.. we just need a better system and a plan... what is the most important thing here? could they run the servers for a couple months with no dev team.. save up some money get an idea of how many people they have to work with, let the news of the servers being back up spread.. maybe even advertise before any new content has been added.. which in a way might be weird.. but i think something we all agree on is that this game is really unique and complex and interesting...i for one knew nothing about this game, and found out about it through a friend... think of all the games that are heavily advertised but have less appeal than ryzom... there are A LOT!.. i think there is a lot to gain on the front of advertising.

im completely against making it a free to play game... sure it seems nice.. until you look around and see who your playing with...the people who end up playing free to play games dont care about the people they are playing with. players get banned and make new accounts, its a constant cycle of annoyance...yes ryzom could make money off of the consumables.. but it provides room for competition. it provides a platform for third parties to make money, selling consumables or in-game money for rl money.... it would take the control away from the owners of ryzom.

dont we have something similar to free to play anyways.. newbie island.. make that free to play.. cap it at lvl 25 or so..however it was.. when i first started ryzom this was probably the best asset.. i had 7 days to explore the game see how things worked.. after 5 days you better believe i was hooked... you could drop the 7 day trial.. just make it unlimited free trial.. and capped.. if you changed the user dialogues so they talk about main-land more.. or explain how the game expands when you move to main-land and become a subscriber.. i think people would really get the picture..

£18.99 is too much...LOTRO is offering monthly subs @ $9.99 a month (almost a quarter that) and one off life time payments of $199.99.
I would consider a one off life time sub if it meant there was a bigger pot of money to relaunch

I would love to pay the extra money if possible. But I'm playing Guild Wars now because it's free. I might try to shovel at the original amount for Ryzom, but no way would i be able to pay more, not matter how much I wanted to.
