Along these lines, at the risk of being stoned, I'd like to point out that one factor in people perceiving the CSRs as being so great compared to other games is that (a) the game population is pretty low and (b) the population has many older players, who themselves help younger ones, so the CSRs have more time. If the player population increases, which is necessary in order to keep the game running, the quality of the CSR experience is likely to go down, even if we keep the same CSRs. And I'd guess keeping the CSR/player ratio the way it is now would not cost effective.

I think that's pretty much it greymage.
Myself, as being a newb player, I'd say CSRs were great in answering most tickets and keeping the chats clean and so forth. Other than that 80-90% of the Q&A is handled by better/veteran players as far as I see it. I hope GF will try replacing the system though, as CSRs really was a contribution to the Ryzom game in whole imo.

I very much look forward to reading the log of the 2nd online conversation with gameforge reps. I am certaintly not going to pull the pin on this game just yet, I will wait and see what develops from this situation. My one consistent thought though, the entire time I read the thread, was gratitude that I don't have years of playing time invested in this game as some of you do. I empathise with you senior players.

We are still working on statistics, so we can see whether one step we take is a success or not.
The part where you plan to fix the economy scares me. It my not be the best right now but we have a nice barter system in place that works. If this is not done right it could kill the game over night. Get lots of feed back and take your time on this one.

This is a false economy.
Ryzom rests upon its community and its CSR support - the things you can rely o when other things don't work. These two are inexorably linked, removing the CSRs removes one pillar completely and severely damages the other. Then you have no game left to speak of.

They are not removing the CSRs from the game, they are changing them. The community will still be here. We as player can fill in and help our fellow player till we get a new up to speed CSR staff.

The problem isnt the fact they changing the CSR's... problem lays for me in the fact the first bit of news about this all was posted by Phelan on the German part of the forum and we, the english community, had to get a translation of that from a German player

Thats where things start to go wrong.

I have read that and i cant say i agree, any company that takes over a game with 3 different languages needs to be at the same lvl with each of those community's... how hard would it be to let some1 make 2 translations for him to post at the same time as on the German forum? I cant imagine Phelan is the only one able to read and write English... also i cant imagine no1 able to do the same in French within GF. :)

first off: jolt wasn't either. they had no german personal at all. secondly, before gf there has not been one single official non-frontpage-news post on the german forums that was not kadael or another gm admonishing people to behave. so by posting here AND there, gf has already beaten the track record of all those before them.
lastly, stop whining about not getting those posts translated. we germans could whine because the irc log is probably never going to be translated to german, but we don't.
