As to all the outrage above, yes yes yes, private communications channel and all, terms of conditions etc. But it remains that the game is played inside the players home and as a result they will have expectations based upon the norms and standards of that home and of the community wherein they reside. They are free to make the choice to play or not and this constitutes an economic vote. I have been extensively involved in MMPORPGs before and believe I have a very good sense, though limited in scope, of the American RPG community. I don't think I am wrong, but time will tell, after all it is now not infrequent that there are one or two players on my region for a part of the evening, and that is a distinct increase.

why does your expectations include the right to spam a help channel with mindless crap?

What country you live in is not really relevant. People are here to play a game and have fun. There is a set of rules and guidelines, and while we welcome new players, obviously, these rules are set out to make it the best international community we can. If everyone is playing under the same rules then that's exactly what it is, a community. If some rules don't apply to some players then it just doesn't work. These are not difficult or life altering rules, it's simply asking not to spam one chat channel that is used to help players. That doesn't sound like the most challenging thing in the game.

If you want to fill up the server then whatever factors which affect people staying or leaving are relevant.
The issue is not really use of Uchat, but the out-of-hand restriction of the only universal channel that exists. If you add other channels and allow random garbage on them then the problem is likely solved, I probably won't turn them on, but it is the choice that matters.
Striding in with dismissive declarations as has happened to-date is simply not going to sell very well to an American audience, love it, hate it, but I believe I am on solid ground in making the claim.

Of course you are free to act how you choose. But these rules are there and will be enforced. It's unfortunate that some will feel unable to act within a simple frame of rules.

Again, Calevin i feel i need to point u to the fact none of these rules where enforced b4 this topic that came with the, so told, scolding by/against a CSR.... If ur looking for some1 to blame and to vent ur frustation to, it would be the TS not the CSR doing his duty...

Peace Mok. (hope i see u sunday on the trek)

I just wanted to add that your suggestions have been forwarded to the devs. Now it's time to close this thread.
