That's not a fact, but your opinion, and you' re completely entitled to it.
If I think that an entertainment/dancer proffession could bring extra depth, but would not solve some or all of Ryzom's problems, then that is my opinion, not a fact.
Nevrax doesn't not seem to think entertainment/dancer proffessions are essential for Ryzom's succes or continuity, or they would have added them from the start or would be working on it and be hard-pressed to release this content. That's a supposition, still not a fact.
Nevrax and it's shareholders decide which type of content is important to them and wether they listen or not to the playerbase of the game. That's a fact.

My point is, you can feel like it is important or essential to you for your gaming experience, but that alone would not change a thing. Ryzom has been around for two years so far without any of those, and it doesn't look like Nevrax have anything planned like it for a long time.
Now, if you really feel like it is THAT important to your expectations, your fun, your gaming experience then perhaps you should try to decide for yourself if Ryzom really is the game for YOU.

We all have dreams and wants we would like to see added; hell, I even made several posts on the unavailabilty of optional global pvp-flags to everyone; but it doesn't take away the fact Nevrax and their shareholders hold all the power on what will be develloped, what they see fit. Our power lies in deciding if we still would want to pay for something that lacks the one thing we crave, or not. No one's forcing you. (and I don't mean to make this sound disrespectfull)

Whatever you decide, it's your choice, your enjoyment, your money, but it's Nevrax' product and their decissions.

Remember, banging your head repeatedly into a solid brick wall doesn't make a window or door, but will eventually cause severe head traumas. ;)

Lol as if this threads still going....

I guess the highlight was the bit about the game failing due to the lack of dancing, thats a new one :)

And to think we were all worrying about spires ...*smacks forehead*

Hehe, looking back on this thread, this is what it amounts to:

Me: "It would be nice if there was some musical content in Ryzom."

Others: "No! That's insane! You can't have it, I won't let you, and I'm going to flame you if you mention it again."

LOL. Talk about overreaction.

Musical content in Ryzom was not only mentioned by David Cohen Corval, he also talked about plans for a bardic skill tree complete with the ability for players to create. perform, and share musical compositions. Sadly, money and developer time is no longer available, and this dream is now dead, along with many others (animal taming, cosmetic skill tree, rites, encyclopedia, aging, and "dynasty" (children) to name a few).

Perhaps if the Ring brings in a sufficient number of new subscriptions, we will see Nevrax and Ryzom survive and prosper long enough to see some of these ideas revisited and even implemented.

Until then, many of us prefer to enjoy the features we do have, anticipate the ones "coming soon" and do as much as possible to help keep the dream alive, rather than asking for more new features (or even the revival of old ones, such as rites/encyclopedia entries).

I don't think you've been reading the same thread then.

You: "It would be nice if there was some musical content just like SWG in Ryzom"

Us: "yes, it would. Some of us have asked for it before. You can do dancing though with spells and emotes. You just have to use your imagination"

You: "emote dancing or spell casting ins't dancing. I need dancing and muscial stuff just like in SWG."

Us: "Well, this isn't SWG. We've showed you what you can do, but you continue to try and convince a small French dev company (Nevrax) that adding musical content will make or break the game. it won't. The attention of Nevrax is needed in other areas, and while it would be nice to some day add such content, it should be towards the end of the list. If you truly desire the dancing/musical aspect, then perhaps this game isn't for you, at least not yet."

Simply because we're not flocking to your cause (constantly saying this game isn't like SWG doesn't help either) doesn't mean we're flaming you. You just don't seem to understand that there IS a way to dance in Ryzom. Music content MAY be added someday, but there are many of us who have been around a lot longer than you who want to see other things finished/fixed first (like encyclopedia for example)

As I already stated it would be nice to have a dance routine, more crafting options etc....Our only difference of opinion Beeryusa is in our definition regarding suggesting and demanding.

Let's see a quote where I've demanded these things.

How could I demand these things? I have no power to force the developers to do anything. The suggestion that I'm 'demanding' is ludicrous.
