That's just too sad. :(

Have you considered doing what I do - just don't take part?

Not just you either....there are quite a few of us who do not participate.

Karm, I'm sorry to see you go. I left for a while due Nevrax's failure to implement a true option for neutrality and the attempt to force PvP down our throats. I hope you will find, like I did, that you just can't stay away from the people here and that, as Philu has suggested, there is always the option not to participate according to Nevrax's guidelines.

Oh dear jena-Duk :(

You were one of the homins due whom I did resub after similar fed up to poorly implemented FvF/PvP. Hope you will return, but I understand more than well why you are leaving. Have fun in Cyrodiil area though, I will as well *grins*, beware porphyric hemophilia...

Because outposts are all the content Nevrax has given to us in ages. Sadly there isn't enough iron wire in whole world to make this explanation clear to lifestyle gankers. So you have to fight if you want to take part into any of the new content. Other reason is that the outposts do affect everyone, as will the spires *if* they are implemented. For example DAoC which is very pure FVF/PvP has the FvF stuff separated from main regions and not affecting everyday gaming of every player.

Nevrax should rather offer us new places to explore, new mobs to meet, supreme jungle/desert/lake materials instead of taking the easy route making Ryzom an UT2004 clone with some RPG elements.

*shrugs*

And in all honesty this can be seen from the amount of nice people leaving... Jyudas tried to say all this even before episode2 and was banned from saying the same thing all over again at boards. Funnily though the people who argued against him and who are still spewing their same tired arguments weren't even suspended...

Consider what will happen to the game and neutrals when spires arrive. Looking at the current state of PvP, OP etc., and you have a reasonable idea what it will be like.

*nods* very true.

With Spires Neutrality will be the only way to remain unaffected by the Spire TP limitations.

Which means more people will be reliant on either areas their faction controls or they will go neutral and lose access to PR and purple zones.

unhappily, I dont think thats the way they will work.

From what I have read, an active spire will disable the opposing factions Teleport altars, so if for example the karavan built a spire in Fleeting garden, the Kami Altar -which is the only one neutrals can buy - would not work.

you would have to cross-reference the regions with the neutral-accessible TPs to work out the full effects, but it just seems the Devs are trying their hardest to polarise the players, and force them to take a side... and I dont want to.

That's what I thought too. Which left me wondering...

Will there be a way to turn regions back to neutral after one of the factions has taken them? I don't see the factions having the option of abandoning the region. A guild can abandon an outpost, but there's no 'faction leader' to decide that a region is going to be left to the neutrals. So then will neutrals have the option to conquer a spire to turn the region back to neutral?

Will neutrals have the option to participate in Spire battles at all? If a karavan-Spire in Fleeting Garden disables the Kami altar there for neutrals as well, neutrals might have an interest in making sure Fleeting Garden stays in the hands of the Kami.

For that matter, why do neutrals have access to the Fleeting Garden Kami altar instead of the Karavan one? It's likely Fleeting Garden will be a Karavan-controlled region when spires come out, which means new Matis players (who haven't been able to acquire 30 Karavan fame yet) won't even be able to teleport to their level 100 area. Same with new Zorai players only having access to the Karavan altar in Maiden Grove.
