The one thing that impresses me about this game is that their is great card to make sure that everything in the game world fits or has an explaination. This question was brought up by sehracii and I would really like to know the answer.

All of us spend large amounts of daper at the teleports. Storywise what do the Kami and the Karavan do with that daper?

Hello Devs and the Ryzom community,

I'm doing the 14 day trial and I wanted to post and ask some very specific questions in order to get a feel for the general level of happiness in this community, I came here after reading hundreds of great player reviews at MMORPG.com about the community and customer service here so figured it was worth a try despite vowing never to play another MMORPG....why?......

SWG

I played SWG for 18 months and have been put off playing MMORPG's heavily by the negative community and the absolutely tyranical development team and obscenely bad customer relations.

My questions for the Devs - please just answer fairly, honestly and stay away from corporate 'generic' speak.

1) Paid expansion packs, extra free content or fixing existing content, with limited manpower how do you make the decision of where to focus your labor?
2) At E3 this year my co-worker saw your booth but said he walked past it without stopping because he'd never heard of the game, how do you feel about that? Do you consider yourself a different market segment from WoW or SWG?
3) MMORPG communities are notorious for being unhappy, SoR seems to be pretty happy from what I've heard, how does a Dev team keep that going? How will you avoid the 'Dev's versus community' rift?
4) Big community or happy long-term community???

Thanks for your candid and direct replies.
Having spent time with community on these forums over the last few days it seems that this initial post was far too aggressive. So far the community have been nothing but helpful and informative but moreso have shown how happy they are with the game. This can only mean that the Dev's are doing a good job.

So I apologize for 'painting you with the same brush' as Devs from other games if it came across that way, I'm looking forward to experiencing the game that so many others here love.

woa, lol Thom. Cool down a tad.

This has happened before in the past, and they're pretty fast to patch in stuff to fix it.

For the Q&A, it has mentioned before that there's just way too much and selective answers can only be given. And this is actually better than before when we have 0 Q&A session at all.

But yeah, someone from Nev needs to throw us a bone soon. I am seeing a lot of people on the verge of mental break down.

and oh, in case you didn't know, it's actually a fluke that Jessica posted in here to answer some of the questions. How this suppose to actually work is, bunch of us post questions, then Xavier grabs the one that he thinks is important, and go about finding the answer to it and the post the answers in his special forum, here:

http://www.ryzom.com/forum/forumdisplay ... ysprune=-1

Make sure you modify the filter to show all threads.

For a bit of history about the Q&A and Xavier's (now prbly stressful) position, besure to read his introduce himself thread.

http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11783

He also posted the rules for the Q&A here:

http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13068

So I am thinking you're getting the wrong idea about these Q&A threads.

You recently patched in 4 rites. The Zorai one involves the same thing as a regular task that has been in the game since day one. Please explain why it's taken 5 months to patch something like that in, especially since the rite doesn't involve any new behavior. I'd also like to know why rites like these aren't patched in on a weekly basis? If your answer is spring cleaning, please elaborate on that further. Specifically what about spring cleaning was preventing you from publishing simple rites and what have you changed with spring cleaning that makes such a difference. Or put another way, What is the difference between publishing a rite before the spring cleaning and after the spring cleaning?

The most frustrating part is that something like that could of easily been done and published to give us something to keep busy. Instead you choose to leave us high and dry while you worked on fixing what should of been taken care of before you went live.

That leads me to another question...
What's exactly caused you to decide that the internals of the game were so messed up that you had to rewrite the game and stop pushing updates?

Is it easy or difficult to add some more titles to everyone's player, such as:

Kami Follower
Karavan Follower

Thank you.

@larwood

The next Q&A round should get published soon.

Many of us went to the e3 expo in Los Angeles and understandably we had to wait with working on the next Q&A round until the e3 was over. Now that everyone's back at work, we can continue doing our Q&A rounds again.
