It seems that the above is the problem, i would check that you have the correct permissions on/in the directory where your'e trying to install, also check that the filesystem is ok, has enough space etc.
Not recommended, but you could try to run the install as root.
If all else fails, you could (shudder :eek
try to install on a Windoze box and move the install dir over to the real os.
Edit: it could also be that the install file (D:\My Downloads\ryzom-full-p2-1.exe) is corrupted... Btw is D: a linux filesystem or is it a mounted fat/ntfs parition ? if it is a ntfs parition then make a new dir somewhere and add it to cedega, since Linux cant write on ntfs partitions...
Latest Nvidia driver for linux might have degrading issues

Happend to surf by
NVIDIA Linux Forums and it seems that the latest drivers from Nvidia has some issues on some cards where the 3d accelleration degrades after a while. What i could discern from
the forums it seems to have to do with some temperature sensing logic where if the GPU runs hot, the performance is slowed...
Nvidia drivers are composed if two parts one that is Linux specific and one that is common between the win and linux, the common part is developed by the win peeps at Nvidia, and it is in this part they seems to have goofed. go figure

From the log it sems like a network problem. Youre never gettiing a responce on the login packet sent out...
The Next line after should have been somthing like:
blah blah ... login->synchronize
Either your login packet never reaches the server or the return never reaches you..
That could be caused by a firewall setting either if you have an external firewall, or if your linux box has a default setup...
I asume that all other network trafic is working normally ?

Hello,
A short reply to thank the author of this HOW-TO as I could manage to have SoR work with my Mandriva LE2005 system. Thanks a lot.
BtW, I still have some issues, include one which I never heard anyone on this forum complaining, that I posted in the french Forum. I will do an english translation as soon as I can in case you guys would have more ideas than the french guys
Oh ... where can I send my ticket for asking a native Linux client ?
I know a few persons who would be interested. Including me, it's 4 already.

.... and probably a mayority of the posters on these threads..
But i would not hold my breath waiting for it though:
Nevrax has more than enough with fixing the bugs, getting outposts ingame and making tools for Ryzom ring, in addition to gennerally staying afloat.
And then they ofcourse now have the excuse that it actually works pretty well with Cedega...

IMPORTANT (especially if you have a cedega/transgaming account)
Ask for a vote for Ryzom in Cedega:
After asking some support in transgaming, a moderator adviced me to suggest a new poll about Ryzom. I created a new "Suggest a poll" topic and this suggestion needs 10 votes to be considered. Then, I hope that this vote will appear in the next round of votes, and maybe could bring some real support to finish to correct the last bugs...
So, I you have a transgaming account and want to help to bring a vote for Ryzom, please, go to the vote section, then "Review Suggested polls" and find my post (currently in the first or second one). Then ask for a "Second, Third, ... poll request".
You can find it here:
http://www.transgaming.com/postlist.php?forum=1263
If we are 10 I hope the request will be considered and will appear in the votes...
Thanks,
Ptitmain.
New version of Cedega ( 5.x) is out

A new version of cedega as been released, 5.0, take care though if youre going to upgrade to it, it changes quite a bit, firstly they have done the Point to Play gui almost mandatory, secondly the configuration file set up has changed.
I recomend to save your old .transgaming directory before upgrading.
Im also updatiing the
Ryzom and linux wiki to reflect the new changes. I'm not totally done with that yet though.
