Maybe they should create a forum just for people like you Trotsky. It can be all rose-colored to fit your view.

You posts amount to nothing. They are as vapid as the posts you are complaining about.

Ignoring problems will not make them go away, except that when enough people leave, the game will.

trosky wrote:Seeing the way people react over forums, if i was a dev i would ether completly ignore the board, and suggest closing the main board OR make two version of the game and transfert all the whinners to the "so easy youll get lvl 250 in 2 days" server.
As a dev of a commercial game my job depends on the success of the game. I would damn well listen what my paying customers have to say because my job is on the line.
trosky wrote: Please, stop whinning, be constructive. If you are here, you probably believe Ryzom as great potentiel. Acting like kids and complaining like them wont help the situation at all.
At this point a lot of people are here with their account cancelled waiting for their 1 paid month to run out and hoping for a positive change that makes the game worth playing before they loose access to the forum and are gone .

And im supposed to believe that ?

Actually I work at network management, I hate when people yell and ***** instead of stating their problems and asking for a fix.

My point is that the way people are putting their complaints is very bad. They could have been said in a proper matter and they would have the same impact. Stuff like saying "they should fire the one responsible for patch 1" is not really fun to read on a devs point of view. You really believe the devs are gonna listen to you if you put it that way ?

Ever played Lineage 2, the devs were completly ignoring the American board, I can understand their position completly when I see the way people express their opinions

Just a quick couple of points:

People did report the problems in a civilized manner, via the ATS. They were ignored. Most people start reacting the way you describe when they start feeling hopeless and ignored but still passionate about their concerns.

Secondly, about the 'firing' post, while it may be easier to get your head around that thought by lumping us all together like that, please don't. I don't feel anyone should be fired for this. That's one persons opinion, not everyone's.

You don't know a lot about the game industry, do you ;)

Sure I agree that people should complain in a polite manner. Point is, many many did that. Others did not. In the end it doesn't matter. When most of your players start cancelling their subscription you better start listening, maybe some of them had a point.

They didn't have to, the game is big in Korea and Asia, they didn't have to worry about the US that much. Yeah I played it, the boards were a nightmare and the players in game not much better. And I won't even talk about the chinese Adena farmer sweatshops and ebay ...

PS: Patch or not patch, I still want game content :P

Do you realize that the devs might have reacted to the French or Europeen forum, who were actually pointing out the same thing.

Ryzom is a bit like Lineage 2, Lineage 2 is played more in Korea then everywhere else, Ryzom is played more in Europe then anywhere else. If you want the devs to actually care about the American forums, we need to keep it clean.

I'm reading the german forum now and then ... people were pretty pissed there as well. A little less unpolite but not by much. They were actually way more pissed after the patch hit than before, we started screaming earlier here ;)

In the end I agree with you, keeping complaints in a proper tone is better.

Looking at the European forums I see the same pissed off posts. Looks to me like people felt the same way all over and not just NA. Some of them weren't so polite either.

No matter how bad something his, it never justify complaining without being constructive.

Anyway I wont defend my point anymore.... its just simple fact, anybody working at customer support would agree with me. No need to yell to be listen.
