In the game listings, at least, it's among a throng of MMos with a rating of 8.1, with guild wars being the only one with 8.3

so the only thing keeping ryzom off the front page is the letter it starts with.

I probably am missing your point :)

all I'm saying is that if you list the games by rating, Ryzom is pretty high up.

I found Ryzom by looking at high rated games on several of the sites mentioned previously and it wasn't hard to do either.
My problem with SoR is not the lvl cap (see previous submission for that answer) but, the fact that all new homins on SoR get the impression that Ryzom is just another mission driven style of game UNLESS, they read the docs, forums or ask in chat. How many times have we been asked by new arrivals on the mainland where the mission npcs are located? Another common problem of understanding is the fact that racial choice is only a matter of preference of the user and in no way affects or effects the characters they have chosen.
Since most people do not read documentation, I think a simple text message explaining the differences between Silan and the mainland would help new players understand that subscribing not only gets them to the mainland but, opens up a whole new free style of play within the game.

No offence to u, i even agree on most points with u, but u where looking for Ryzom around juni/july of last year, when i was looking for another game Ryzom was getting some massive addvertisments on sites like http://www.mmorpg.com now a couple of months later that effort is all gone. Ryzom isnt in peoples minds as a game to play like games as vangaurd or LOTR are. This is due to less advertisment imho.

Well you have to admit that these games you picked are both relatively new online and we all know that newly released games always draw from more established games. Players that have the time or are searching for something will always look at the latest releases to see what they offer.
Good, solid advertising comes from the Ryzom's community via word of mouth or in emails to MMO rating sites, like those mentioned. Players usually respect the opinion of other players provided its backed up with game facts from thier own experience.
If we want new players to come to us lets not depend on GF or anyone else but, ourselves. Spend a few minutes on various websites and let the masses hear us and what Ryzom has to offer. I posted a thank you email to MMORPH.com a few days after I found Ryzom and explained why I liked it in detail versus the game I had played and lost interest in.
Its not that hard and you might influence someone to come take a look too! :)

I started by mailing MMORPG.com and tellinmg them to change the publisher of Ryzom to Gameforge :D

And they fixed it, yay!
