Because it's addictive? :p

( geeky aside: will F5 show you anything?, don't you need CTRL+F5? )

Heck, I just modified my program to do a GET http://www.ryzom.com/news/ 10 billion times in a tight loop, and run THAT every 5 seconds :p

The question being if its even worth getting off the island at this point. For all we know tomorrow we could get news that "Yep, we're boned" and it's over.....or that they were bought by EA/SoE which would have a similar effect.
heheheh. you haven't played an MMORPG long enough to realize that kind of logic is pointless. it applies just as equally to a game that isn't going to die. the point is only to do what you do while you do it. your characters are never permanent, they are always temporary, on every level. only as long as you subscribe. only as long as the game servers exist. or if the data is local, only as long as the storage medium exists. only as long as someone finds enough value in the data to keep transferring it to a newer device.

of course... none of that changes our PERCEPTION that some motivation has changed. :> the same thing happened to me. the trial was over and I planned on making an account just to play on the starter "island". I just couldn't stay with it, even when I heard the level caps had come "off". (still limited by the zone)
