I love the stero-typical replies here, I can almost predect what every post is going to say......Make your own fun, Team Up, Atys is hard, deal with it, Find friends, enjoy death, enjoy DP, hit your face into the computer mutiple times because you simply want a challenge in fighting, not an impossability. That last one was mine......This community is making me extremely sick, in game people are nothing but helpful, but on these forums, every "Oldbie" expects us to conform to thier style of gameplay, I am sorry but sometimes I want to be able to solo, not ALWAYS be forced to team for an entire week, but more importantly I want you to stop telling me that your happy go lucky style of gameplay (being that you are high enough lvl to handle yourself of course) is the only thing that is welcome here, well I am sorry, you said it yourself, this game is a sandbox, so we make our own fun, why can I not be permitted to do so in the style of a lone wolf as you put it?

I've never had to deal with getting slaughtered by the Kitins because I'm a newbie and more or less have decided to stick my characters to the newb island and around the camps until my friends decide to join me in the game.

Despite the complaints, I am actually looking forward to fighting off the invaders and possibly having a good challenge, as well as making good roleplay out of it. I can't wait to get Uyare into the mix to help lower the number of deaths with her passion for helping others and healing wounds, and I can't wait until Dazden gets smashed so he can fire at one of the critters with his sour attitude and saucy remarks! Hopefully my friends will hurry up and join me...until then, I'm being patient and leveling up my branch of choice (namely fighting and crafting for Dazden, and focusing on Magicks for Uyare).

As others have said...and from what I've heard thus far, Ryzom isn't made to be an easy level crunching game. It is more of a living world, with real threats and dangers to the characters. I think it adds to the realism, which I am thankful for. I just can't wait to wet my feet in the mainland!

once again I aqm going all caps so as to bring a marginal amount of attention to my words I DO NOT WANT EASY, I DO NOT CARE IF SOLO GRIND TAKES ME 4 DAYS PER LVL, AND I DIE EVERY 2-3 KILLS, LET ME WORK OFF MY DEBT AT LEAST!!!! I cannot do so in any enjoyable manner without a team, I team everyday, but when it comes 3:00 AM and no one is on what then? Please, you all seem to know so much, what then?

What area are you in and what lvl do you want to work? I'll show you where to solo without death despite the invasion. You just need to learn the land. :)

Get over it.
Buckle up and learn to sneak past the Mobs you cannot beat yet.
Solo all you want, its OK.
I asure you it is absolutely possible to sneak past the agressive mobs everywhere on Atys.
As for this week, you´ll simply but sadly have to wait untill its over and then get back to your playstyle again. The devs won´t turn off the Event just because of you.
It´s not on us to help you if you insist on turning down our advice and rant about how unfair, arrogant and whatnot we are.
Just calm down and stay focused on your way to play. Nobody forces you to team up. If you don´t wat to, then don´t. But don´t forget that soloing IS had, no matter how much you complain.

I wish you the best and to have Fun.
Just ahve a little patience and come the next invasion you´ll be happily slaughtering Kitin on your own, like all of us arrogant fools do. ;)

Edit: Did you know, I soloed my first 89 Levels of 2 Hand Melee? And it was nowhere better back then.

A week seems too long. I'm sure it's a thrill at first, but it's bound to get old after a few days.

Furthermore, who enjoys building up massive debt trying to play the game? I guess the 250 folks don't care, but for anyone trying to advance, this is a lost week unless you are fortunate enough to either avoid the whole fiasco or get into a group that can handle this sort of thing.

I won't even leave the starter island until this is over and done.

MUCH THANKS to the Nevrax team for this event. I LOVED the pumpkins tho at least around Pyr a "less is more" motif would have served well......got a great laugh at the yubos, got craploads of DP. Not only from logging in a new kittin spot but from 3 connection failures in the middle of things and quite a few "whoopsies" where an attempt to drag 3 resulted in a drag of 12....

....so what's a mere 4 million DP and that was after working off quite a bit the day before.....I am having a ball. All the new mobs are easy to outrun and once you know the layout and "clear a path", with the slow spawn rate, you always have a "run to" spot behind you. Also getting a laugh at the guard camps where the "none to observant guards" don't start attacking the mobs till you do or they aggro on you. The regular mobs they still attack whenever in range but these new ones are apparently "sneaky".

Find the comments about it interefering with OP battles interesting as the PvE community is so often told that if OP battles interfere with PvE, digging or whatever it's tough....get over it.....Atys is a dangerous place....go dig or PvE someplace else.....when you entered the area, you assumed that risk.

Most of all, it's nice to see an opportunity for the OP-less get a chance at OP bennies, tho as others have said, the payoff is a bit light. The last title seems a bit to work for at 4000 pieces and I think many will pass. Personally, not one for titles unless that title earns some sort of reward or ongoing benefit. One I'd idea for example that would make the event have a lasting impact would be, since kitin is a threat to all factions, races and tribes would be a change in the maximum fame levl on could achieve with the races and tribes. You'd stil have to earn the fame points (or maybe not) but the cap would be moved.

So where say my maximum race fame is 25 with a certain race, let it go up a certain amount of points with each title earned:

Debutante + 2 pounts
Hunter + 4 points
Master Hunter + 6 points
Eradicator + 8 points
Mass Murderer + 10 points

Participation would therefore have some benefit as it would open up more mission types for players who have exhausted the available supply. The alternate idea would be to actually give those points which, with tribes, it could move you from KOS to tolerable.

Of course, with the idea having just "popped" I am already thinking of "why not's" and then countering "why's" but it's the genus of an idea that would give event participation soemthing that lasts beyond the week and give more peeps a reason to find it worthwhile to participate.

The 250's actually do care a whole lot. they get a whole lot more DP and have to grind it away a lot longer then a lower character and using a lower skill will take exponentially longer. Being 250 does not mean that you can just forget about DP and run wild... You are thinking about level 60 players from another planet who have maxed their character and can do as they please. In ryzom it does not work that way.

Are the titles race specific? Guess I missed that. If not, why would it affect race fame if I can get the title anywhere?

To me, it would make more sense for titles to increase your abilities against kitin in some way. "Practice makes perfect". Either increase your ability to hit, your damage or your ability to dodge them (I like the last one best since it helps healers too).

Also, shouldn't the agro range for kitins increase if you have these titles? i.e. if you're going around bragging about being a "Kitin Mass Murderer", they should target you for attack a bit more often? Or at least if you're wearing the title that day.

Debutante + 2m
Hunter + 4m
Master Hunter + 6m
Eradicator + 8m
Mass Murderer + 10m and kipees/kizoar/kiban are no longer peaceful
