Oh no I do... just quality over quantity is all.
And I'm still waiting for your alternative...

It always amazes me how much people feel entitled to. The free trial is just that. a free TRIAL. Ryzom is Nevrax's baby, designed, programmed, marketed, and maintained by their people. Players *use* the service, but do not own it. This being said, why would anyone feel so entitled to an unlimited free trial with no restrictions?
Of all the things in the world to worry about, people are going to put up so much of a fight about a 21 level cap??
/sigh
The world is such a sad place sometimes.
The whole point is that when you hit the cap, you subscribe and continue playing. If you are unsure if you want to continue playing, then try 1 month as a paid account and see if it's what you want to play. Or, go spend $50 USD on another game that doesn't offer a free trial.
I want to see the population explode on Atys... but not at the expense of the quality of the community. After reading some of the threads about the level cap, I'm looking at it from a new perspective.
Quality Control.
*edit* - I am not stating that every person taking issue with the level cap is an idiot. And my comment about "after reading some of the threads..." doesn't necessarily apply to this one. The statement is more of a general frustration with the whole thing.

Will you stop bashing on Kattan? All he did was suggest that Nevrax should look at improving the ways they can take people's subs, and reading what he has to say about his experiences, I have to agree.
The only reason I possess one of these evil credit cards is that it is almost essential as proof of id on the internet. As a matter of principle I would much rather not have one. Following that principle, I would rather not rely on someone else having subscribed to the evil credit market, either. Sadly they are very much easier to get hold of than debit cards, I'd have no objection to one of those but my bank won't allow me one, while I can get fistfuls of credit cards with a few mouse clicks.
I had no idea that the PayByCash method was so slow to activate - two weeks is rather ridiculous in this day and age. And why on earth are there no longer subscription options by that route? It makes no sense, on the surface.

Pay by Yber!
Feeling a bit lost with your money? spent too much on things you shoudln't have? Do you have no friends who can help you out? Poor Credit or CCJ's?
We have the solution!
Pay by Yber is an inoventive way to pay for your Ryzom account, once a month we send a flock of Ybers over to your house and they will wait for you to place cash into their beaks. However, if you are a lowly student, they will just take things of equivilent value! - yes no need for cash when they can rip out the RAM in your Machine!
Subject to terms and conditions, items taken can not be replaced, but sold on Ebay, If you're a freeloader. we reccomend against this method of payment. any comments or questions? Email them to Imafreeloader@iwantfreeryzom.com

Re-occurring Paypal subs do not take 2 weeks to clear the system. It is just the initial one that may take a few days to set up.
Monthly, after that there is no loss of game time, unless you change the payment method used within Paybycash.

Thanks Shadowweb
Would Nevrax consider allowing the same extended subscription offers by that method as are available by credit card? I mean Kattan states that he can only buy one month at a time when he would prefer to pay for a year up front.

I went up to one of my friends (really I have at least one in real life ) and said "Chris you've a debit card don't you ?, Can you do me a really big favour and pay for a mmorpg online for me if I give you the cash in advance".
And lo my problem was solved.
I can vouch for this approach, used it myself once...except my friend is called Dave *waves to Dave*

There is always the option of:
Visa Prepaid Cards
I have no idea where the heck to get one, though I am looking at this as an alternative to using a credit card.

Thank you Jamela, I think the reason it takes so long isn't necessarily the time from Paypal to Paybycash to Nevrax, but rather the time between my bank and Paypal.
I think I have found another option, so hopefully will see you in game soon.

Thank you Rothimar, I never knew that such a thing existed. I did some research and found that the easiest for me (here anyway) is a prepaid Mastercard that I can get from Moneymart. Not sure if Moneymart in the US has them or not.
Will be a matter of a day or 2 until I am in game (subscribed). Thank you once more.
