IRL NA - PHASE ONE - Location, location, location

I heard a distressing rumor today.

They dont plan on an IRL in NA anymore. If one is planned they plan to have it in London, again. How wonderful for us middle class that can barely afford to pay normal bills, let alone plane tickets.

If this is indeed the case that is.

Also, what is to stop a player-made IRL?

You know there's a lot of French and Belgians and Scandinavians (and even some "Far Eastern" people) who play as well and I would imagine a lot of them can't afford plane tickets either; they can't please everyone

Besides, as Lokire said, what's to stop a player organised one? Not all devs and CSRs are interesting you know

Gotta vote for Houston, TX. Intercontinental air traffic and tons of places to hold large meeting. And of course, it will be large, right? Everyone's coming!

I had some plans for a small gathering, which is probably pretty close to reality. There is a chain round here that rents out their stores for lan parties and stuff, GameWyze they are called: http://gamewyze.com/ ...anyway I emailed them and havent heard anything back.
Dallas is one of the largest airports in the area, and there are tons of places to stay round the Gamewyze.
I thought that way we could play some, have meetings and stuff at the local hotel convention centers (and at local bars of course) and generally cause mayhem.
If I had the cash I would rent the place out for the weekend myself.

Indianapolis, being the crossroads of America and all. Plus we do have an international airport with a ton of medium sized convention centers.
