*coughs* Thats assuming we don't hit the same wall with one side having a large numerical advantage and building spires even outside their traditional lands.

Speaking of which, since Spire battles can happen at any time, I wonder if this will result in (for example) all the kami spires being nuked during the US peak times and the Kara ones during european peak times...

The kitin originally destroyed all the outposts, they cant be too happy see them popping up again ;)

some nice ideas were seen at the January 2005 week long kitin invasion, equipping of defenders with good armour/weapons etc, people digging and fighting to get mats to trade with NPC`s. Something like this would be great.

Exp Cats if they stay should be earned not dug freely, there are 2 unused slots at the OP, would like for them to have some use. maybee defense towers old lixie camp style that can be destroyed in battles.

as for non PvP outpost takeover, maybee something on the lines of "congratulations, your guild has shown itself to be loyal to the [insert region name here], we believe you may be able to hold this outpost more efficiently against the kitin than the current owners, do you want to take control of this outpost [accept] [decline]" when that other guild has shown more interest in killing the kitin/aiding defense. pretty much any guild could then put in the work to obtain that outpost, they must earn it tho, and continue to show that they are willing to work for it.

still alot of t`s and i`s missing dots and slashes in this, i just dont agree that craft off`s are PvE content

And mines are known to extinct as well... especially when you drill into something that lives :) i would expect a tree to close its "wounds" after some time....

Well yes... which kinda leads to the worry that in the future not only will PvP imbalance deny access to new content, your _old_ TPs won't work anymore either.

Which IMHO would be rather a problem especially given how bad things got with OPs...

Just a reminder, neutrals won't be affected by spires at all (link) :D If you're concerned about the effect on the factioned players, then that's very considerate of you ;)

i'll answer with a quote from chronicles site
Several decades ago, the Karavan discovered special nodes under the Crust. Those special places have been blessed by Ma-Duk and have become very important for Atys’ equilibrium. The Karavan, in their foolish thirst for materials, dug so deeply that they disturbed the Kami's great masterwork.

Unfortunately the followers of the Karavan are too numerous currently for us to claim every nexus. We ought to have them understand they are deceiving themselves and following a false-goddess, the Night’s Empress. Ma-Duk knows how huge this task is, so he decided to help you balance the Karavan’s disastrous excavation like he did fifty years ago.

The Kamis will offer you tree-bores; these plants will grow on a nexus, and plunge their roots deep in the Crust to repair the damage done to Atys' equilibrium. Moreover, those tree-bores will excavate some materials without harming the Bark, so you can benefit from them.

Homins! Seize this opportunity! These special nodes are under the fallen outposts that you have seen everywhere on Atys. But the Karavan won’t be their only enemies to claim those: the Marauders are planning to take outposts as well, for some unknown, dark purpose. They are Ma-Duk’s enemies, for they perform experiments on the Goo and will sooner or later cause a great disaster for all Atys’ life.

about 50% of my friends list are factioned, about 2/3rds of that 50% are Kami, 1/3rd Kara. I know I will be fine (assuming that FAQ doesnt change in the mean time).

I play this game because of the people. If my friends leave, its not fun anymore. So I care for the factioned players, and for myself. Selfish aint I? *grins*
