I'll take your argument one step further. I don't want to grind levels and you are keeping me from killing bosses cause I am only level 10.

However, if the people that do not want to get involved at all do not go to the zone PvP areas, much of this stops. We are commenting on the minority, the people who 'gank' and boast. Most of the adamant pro-PvPers that you come up against in your posting are some adamant about it because it is a critical part of the basis of the game. Kami v. Karavan, Trykers enslaved by Matis, Dumb Fyros who brouhgt about the great Kitin invasion, etc.
Okay so lets do it this way. Peeps who do not want to do PvP, stay out of certain zones. And peeps who do wanna PvP stay ONLY in those zones.... fair enough ? Oh yeah, ....move all the supernodes out of the PvP zones.
Now if you find that scenario unfair or diagreeable, perhaps you will get an understanding of the position of the other side of the issue.

... I am hardly stupid, but I grow impatient that we still do not have these things IG already...
If you heal an opponent, or attack an ally, in a PvP conflict, then you are stupid...or at least have bad targeting skills.
Which is, actually, what I wrote. I did not write that everyone who wanted PvP is stupid (Though a preponderance of evidence would suggest a larger portion of the least articulate among us prefer PvP.)
Enacting system controls that do not allow us the freedom to play our character how we want, out of fear that the stupid or clumsy will not be able to attack other players effectively, is to dumb even PvP down to the point that there is very little fun to it.

I think it would be more interesting if there were supreme digging areas that were not PVP areas but were ringed with a PVP band going in a circle at a rough width all the way around.
Then to get to the prime digging spot you'd have to make it through the band - a bit like the game British Bulldog
Maybe all these problems will go away when ryzom-ring comes to fruition as then everyone will be happy as they can do what they like.
Thanks

Yeah put them all in a newly discovered part of the Prime Roots and move all the kincher patrols there with them.

I think it is taking it a bit far to say the PvPers should not be allowed in the non-PvP areas. When they enter a non-PvP area, they do not in your terms "behave badly" as they do in PvP areas. They do not force their way on you wherever they are. In a PvP area they may choose to PvP. In a non-PvP area they do not antagonize or act badly.
No one is precluding a non-PvPer from being in a PvP zone, they are just saying that if you are, be prepared for anything. This argument would be like saying, I am playing game X and they have PvP servers and non-PvP servers, I am not a PvPer and I hate it, but I want to be on the PvP server because they do things differently and the direction of their server is going differently. If I can't be there and not have PvP you are not letting me have all of the game.
P.S. I see no issue with moving some of the supernodes to Non-PvP areas. I think there is plenty of spots in PR where it is not PvP and Supreme mats are available.
Noin.

Would it be possible use different terms from open PvP and consentual PvP. People seem to use PvP as general, but it has two totally different meaning. Consentual PvP is not problem for Ryzom, only open zone PvP is the problem.
I think, people are not so much about against PvP as general, but more how Newrax is doing the PvP in Ryzom. It seems that they don't understand that NO-ONE can force playing styles to someone else.
Example, I talked with the guild where I belong about PvP. Most of them wanna do PvP sometimes, but none of them seem to wanna be part of any open or faction PvP. They are waiting consentual PvP, like guild vs guilds. Of cause there is many different kind of guild on Ryzom, what can have different needs, but even this tells someting.
Sure they are interested about outpost, but if it turns ugly, they will not wanna be part of it. This is the problem, because new content for game should never be like this, some group of players not wanna be part of it, because someting. New content should be fun for everyone.
Of cause better wait and see and not judge stuff before they are even in the game. Just too little information about them yet.

I've heard rumours about duel spamming by avid PvPer in non PvP zones...
