Wrong, high ele will raise your resists so less spells will land...

They haven't nerfed it yet so there still is hope that maybe Nevrax won't go for the easiest sollution but will actually try to get a more permanent fix.

Pure mage would still win pure melee i would think due to being able to use sneeky things like 250 enchants on ya amps to let ya cast 2 doubles at a time you would be dained yes but the melee would be dead before it hit ya more then twice. Melee just needs boosting in PvP zones to even it all up.
Eather way its the poor pure rangers that wouldnt stand a chance vs pure Melee or Ele.

Not true Melee and Ele both -25 resist to your lvl so its same resist 250 ele or 250 Melee = 225

Warrior jewels -whats that about ? , jewels can already give resists if made from the right mats -they just need to make them actualy work ;p

I think they should reduce heal by about 1/3 , fix jewel resists and work on improving the performance of things like the "Aim At" stanzas (with more criticals)

-but do it gradualy DONT nerf the hell out of things and lose players (like patch 1)

I don't think, there is/is many "pure" Elems..
Many players leveled Elem as secondary skill or for self-defense.
Being a HiLvl melee (main skill), i still prefer to have only amp in bag and nuke mob before it reach me (except some criters in 250ish zones, like voraxes, kinchers...) , than have always in bag full HA suite + weap and forced to use all auras and selfheals, but with unpredictable result.

Melee vs Elem.
Like stated above, i dont know any "pure" Elementalist, but duels Ele vs Melee depends on few factors.(each have 250 in both skills [ele + melee])
If melee dont have auras and selfheal - he lost duel instantly, dont depends on distance between players.
If elementalist making misstakes (nuking nonstop, when Melee uses Inv and Auras) - melee have high chance to win.
If both prepared, and elem dont make mistakes (dont waste credits) - melee have less chances to win.
but its all just hopes in the end they will just nerf cos thats all they know how to do.
Maybe just mages are overpowered compared to all other, not Melee too week
But actually, each duels result depends how players are skilled..
how powerfull they really are in their "pure" form......
No "pure" forms in 'open class/skills system' game

Wouldn't a Melee be able to have a AoD enchant his weapon and use the same "sneaky" tactics?

Not sure what you mean by this but you'd have to remember that an elementalist would have no benefits from his ele resists agains a melee because, well melees don't do ele dmg....

This was the point I was trying to make there are no (or only very few) "pure" anythings in the game: no "pure" mages, no "pure" warriors, no "pure" diggers, and no "pure" crafters. This being the case we can't be sure how those "clases" would stand up against each other. (well crafters and diggers would lose every fight because they would not have any combat skills :p )

If that is truely the case then what are people whining about.... :D

(the above remark may sound a bit harsh but really if winning or loosing a fight depends on how you've "built" your char and on how you've equipped it then what is the problem?)

It can be argued that there is no balance problems between characters as everyone can learn all skills and be equal. PvP fights works now, PvP is not broken. One of the sides will win eventually and winner is side which utilized game mechanisms better.

Said that, current inbalance between skills makes PvP fights uninteresting. Ultimate PvP build is 250 melee/nuke/healer (melee only for extra hp), all other skills are redundant and nukers need only 1 or 2 action (long and short range double missile). Healers can use larger variety of different heals to conserve strength and rez quickly. Other factors in PvP are auras and item enchantments.

PvP changes are meant to change PvP more interesting and varied, that would eventualy make more players interested in PvP.

Yes, but an enchant on amp gets bonus to power (if enchant <= Amp QL). So if you are weilding a 97/97 amp you will do more damage with the same enchant than you would do on a sword.

If melee interuptting casting becomes useful, then daggers/CC could be the way to beat a nuker.. providing you're good enough to beat their dodge :)

or range maybe.. every time they go to cast a spell.. shoot them in the head :p rate of fire more important than actual damage, as you are suppressing them for your teammates to deal with.

still dont want to see PvE wrecked for the sake of PvP tho.

Nope Melee would have action pen for weapon / weapons also no bonus on casts so would do about 750 dmg and would drain alot more, where Ele would do 1.5k dmg and drain less

Lvling ele dont wont raise ya resists any more if ya allready 250 melee.
