Each item you add to your zone requires a credit to counter it. For example, for every item that you add to your zone that allows you to gain exp, you need to put a credit to counter it, such as slower respawn, or reduced mat quality. This may help maintain a balance. Just a rough idea though.
that sounds fair and is a great idea, lets hope nevrax had the same idea.

When you participate in the Ryzom Ring, you contribute to the richeness of the Ryzom universe. Fellow players will seamlessly wander from the mainland of Atys into your new map. Come create your legacy within the Ryzom Ring !
I can just see
The Yubo Refuge, created by the Yubo Liberation Front. Thousands of Yubos of all ages and sizes. And a few select über-aggros that are triggered by any homin killing a Yubo...
I just want a small private, semi-secluded village for me, my closest friends and my guild. A valley lake somewhere like Great-Grandma told me her Great-Grandma lived in before those stupid Fyros dug in the wrong place for the Great Dragon and awakened the Kitin.
(out-of-game) A more technical question, where will all that new territory be stored? Will Nevrax lease us server space and bandwidth or will we have to provide our own?

I suspect if we can access it from ingame "Fellow players will seamlessly wander from the mainland of Atys into your new map." then it will be hosted with the ryzom game

What if... at some point the game we play now becomes the next step up from the newbie island and you're only able to go into the ring once you've made it to the maxed levels because the ring is where levels don't count any more?

I will say that one of the things that made Doom and subsequently Half-life and Unreal Tournament such a success was the mods that could be written to expand those games. Player created maps greatly enhanced the original release. If Nevrax is able to pull this off, this would truly be an evolutionary step in MMOs.

I agree with gecker.

I kept thinking: Where can I buy Nevrax stocks?
If this can be implemented well and with several levels of licences, I can understand why the investers keep having faith in Nevrax.

You know, I wouldnt mind shelling out a couple of grands to get some stock in the company myself ... even a .0001 %
lol
I wonder if we can form a group of players "angel investors" to own a part of an mmo that we love to play.
That'll be wild, a partly-player-owned mmo.
