Most traders~trade fair and you could get your wish and push the trader of the market...we will see
If you have a need for 250 jewels and cannot get to Fyros I am having a good laugh at your expense.
There is more of a need for traders at lower to medium levels, however the cost of transporting the goods far outweighs the potential markup currently.
Noin.

I think that this post has created a healthy discussion of a topic that apparently some of us have strong views about. That is ok, we can have our opinions, but we need to respect the right that others have to have and share their opinion.
Those who insult others, or even KOS (kill on site) othe players because of their opinion... are immature and shouldnt be playing anyway.
No this is not a post against haddo, he started a discussion that apparently needs to be discussed.
So, once again... if you are going to post, Make a sensible argument without flaming or trolling. Sheesh.
Ok, my opinion on the "binding" issue is that it wont benifit anyone. You have all provided ample reasons why, so i wont be redundant and go over them again. I think that a solution could be like we have in real life...
Depreciation. When a car leaves the dealer, it starts going down. So maybe if someone who wanted to trade goods... once they bought from the original seller, the value started to drop.... I havent thought this through all the way, but its an idea.

I think the simpliest solution is a voluntary flag set by the crafter...resale or not. If someone legitimately wants to resale and distribute to other lands then i'm sure Crafters would be happy to supply them. If all you want to do is buyout someone's stock and scalp it, i've no sympathy for you. IMHO you don't add anything to the game and this kind of behavoir has no place in it. As far as all the references to the RL "free market", we all know how imperfect it is and it's just another reason why some of us come here to escape from it.

Good point... i've never thought of it in that regard. Are we trying to simulate RL, or create a
whole new world?
*breaks out into the Aladin Theme Song.... A whole new world... thats where I will be.....*

And at what point would he have time to even do any digging/crafting? Given the demand on these items, he'd spend his entire day answering /tells. And, the man can't be on 24 hours a day; how does he service customers that live in different time-zones? (like most of the server since he's GMT+5)
But no you want a closed market so only crafters can sell the goods they make onto the market with no resale and so all Traders(resellers) suffer...
Again, folks, let's not read more into Haddo's request than he actually wrote. He simply asked that you don't support those players that are providing no value to the rest of the community. He didn't ask for game changes or penalties to those players. He didn't suggest they go on anyone KoS list. If you don't agree with his request, then don't abide by it. These resellers are not hurting him (and he's said as much).
well thats up to you just hope you can get around Ryzom to get to the players who cannot get to other markets to find goods you have.Their is a place for Resellers on Ryzom it's just you guys want the monopoly on the market.
He never asked for a monopoly. It's the resellers that are creating a monopoly situation by buying up every thing He and Keoni and others make and putting them back on market at an inflated price. If you want to be a reseller that provides value (like making them available in other markets), then work with the crafters to get an understanding and then do it.

Since we keep comparing to the "free market" of RL, lets bring up another aspect of RL. Trade Embargo. the stopping of trade often with the use of force. If someone wanted to KOS a reseller, they could do so simply because they didn't like the chars tactics/morals. Happens in the RL all the time.

you've go to be kidding. Cummon, stay on the topic.
Why don't we just bring in terrorists, and how they effect trade. What about exhange rates, and market appreciation.... hey, while we are on ridiculous tangents lets defend people like Hitler, or Polpot who killed people becasue they didnt agree with their ideas and beliefs.
Is that where you're trying to get Morgaine?
I brought up KOS becasue it is terrorism. Trying to make a point by using terror.... dont even go there, you wont win.

Killing someone because you dont like their tactics/morals... how can you get any worse?
