WHY does it have to be such a chore to travel?

I am not saying make it easier to get to foraging grounds and keep agro a mile back. I AM saying...I would like to go from Tryker to Fyros, From Fyros to Zorai and ANY where in between without maxing DP or watching guilds that do trips and HOPE I don't crash during one.

If a dev can explain WHY travel is designed into the game to be so arduous and NON soloable, if I understand, I might be swayed into understanding their point of view.
Get a mount, it is so much easier to travel between lands solo.

Something I submitted last night to the GM's

When you have your mount/packer in a stable they will slowly regen their hunger points. I get a bit annoyed when I see mounts/packers just sitting around and in the way (sometimes on a ramp thus blocking it and forcing you to contact a GM to have it moved), especially when I see more of them just hanging around as the days pass. I figured it would be a good incentive to keep them in the stables where they belong when not in use and it'd keep the clutter in the cities clear.

The end result was a good response from the GM stating that it was a "reasonable request". Hopefully it'll come into effect sometime in the near or far future.

Excellent idea!! I'd go for the 20 day regen for the packers and mounts instead of us homins and give us back the dp gone in 3 days regen.

ps: would have sent this to you in PM but that avenue was blocked.

Just wanted to second the idea of being able to buy a respecification for your character.

World Wide/Market Channel, which allows everyone anywhere to talk, sell items, etc.

Here are some of my suggestions, some of which I submitted with the Suggestions link in the game:

-- Loop or Repeat option for the mp3 player. Would be useful for setting up a few ambient music tracks to play until you stop them. Yes, other mp3 players outside the game can do this, but most take a decent amount of system resources away from the game.

-- Adjust ambient sound levels. Doors don't seem to make any noise. Heavy rain sounds fine, but lighter rain is almost completely silent. There's no wind noise of which to speak. There are no footstep sounds that I've ever heard. Now, before you go off about my sound card, or speakers. First, it's an Audigy Platinum, latest drivers. Second, I am using a rather expensive full surround speaker system. Third, I've checked the sounds on other computers on my network, and it's always the same. And, yes, I have the buffer turned off. I'll note that sounds which originate from a specific source, like a player digging, or emoting, or the creatures making sounds, sound fine.

-- I'd like to second, and third (for my fiance) the suggestion of being able to allow other players into your apartment. My fiance and I play together, and it would be nice to be able to share an apartment.

-- The seasons are great. And I like the idea of herds migrating (though I have yet to see that happen to any great extent in my experience). But, can't some of the more naked NPCs put something warmer on in the winter? ;)

-- A Z axis for character movement. I really miss being able to jump or crouch. Or, for instance, not being able to walk under things that you can walk over, even if there is enough space to do so. Would be nice for swimming also, but if swimming underwater is enabled, there needs to be some addition to the way water is done right now. EDIT: I now see that there are multi-level buildings where one level does indeed go over another walkable level. Still doesn't explain why we can't walk up the roots in the Matis newbie island, though. ;)

-- Water. Surface looks great, even though the fake reflection doesn't always match the sky. ;) But when moving the camera underwater, or if the above suggestions of allowing swimming underwater become reality, it just doesn't look right. Things underwater are rendered the same as above. Just have that water plane there. Need some sort of difference in the way things are rendered when underwater. I could go off about shaders at this point, but I haven't a clue what this engine really supports.

-- Fix swimming animations for Tryker. Their heads are never above the water, they ought to be drowning! :P

-- If it's not already set up, it would be nice to see seasonal movement of animals. Though, I have no idea how hard this would be under the current setup.

To end my message, I'd like to state that I understand that many of the features I've suggested are low priority, and not likely to be even considered, in the face of bugs to squash, and other, more important features that were already planned. But it'd be nice if they're at least considered, and someone tells me I'm asking too much. :) I have a small inkling of experience of what it's like to be on the developer's side of the curtain. I understand it isn't easy, and that some things the community wants just can't be done.

That's just asking for a headache, I've seen how "well" world chat works. It gets out of hand, people start flame wars, the GMs have to come in and tell people to shut up and ban people for foul language. The market part in theory would work well but... there would be just too much stuff to sort through trying to find what you want even if you well define what you're looking for. I for one have 20-40+ items on sale on the market at any given time, if you use that for an average for everyone else then the serverload for that would be too much. It would need some rather tight restrictions on what you can put up and a much more limited time limit and a heafty tax for things that don't sell.

An alternative to that I think would be a personal bazaar, to those who played FFXI will know what I'm speaking of. To those that don't, it's a bazaar you set up with self defined prices, and you carry the items on your person. The person will browse your wares and buy what they want directly off you. I've always been fond of the idea of that, since it takes care of having to advertise what you want to buy all the time, people can just look for themselves. It would cut down on the clutter you see sometimes when looking for items at merchants.

And ditto on the Z-axis, I just don't feel right not being able to jump. And having to run around these little notches in the ground gets somewhat aggrivating especially when you're being aggrod. Although having such a thing can bring up more exploits i.e. perching

I agree that FFXI had an awsome set up for letting players sell things off there own bazzar this would be a cool feature to have in this game as long as you could sell off your packer and not just your personal Inv. In otherwords Your packer has to be next to you to do this. I always thought it would be cool to set up a player run shop.

Kinda like a taco truck!

umm yeah, Tryker dock = 1.5 meters from sand..can't...make it....must run all the way to where dock connects to sand. Kinda silly I can swim in water but I R afraid of getting feat wet. Also funny I can kill monsters the size of buildings but can't jump.
Y axis = Good!

Mektoub feeding. Also good. Not only stables but anywhere outside of town. special 'crop' feature that allows mektoubs to eat, but wander slightly. That way you don't have to carry to much food with you when you travel. A good hour of cropping to charge your mektoub to full.
Baldy
Guild Infinity, blue monkey scapegoat caster of spells making materials appear in guild hall while riding mektoubs to get things out of the ground so that they may be placed in there so people can level crafting and not making much money so always poor unless I go do things on my own but that's boring so I don't because I'd rather take brithlem's money because he has access to the guild hall and has lots of money so it...
