I have Mandriva Linux LE2005 (10.2) with cedega 4.3.2 and Kernel 2.6.11
Someone know how to fix this?
Back to the original problem... Which xorg version does mandriva use?

Hm.
That's strange.

From what I see it looks like either SoR doesn't find something or X is unable to display the results...
Did you check your client.log for errors yet?

Iuse:
Gentoo 2005.0
xorg-x11 6.8.2
kernel 2.6.11
cedega 4.2.1
ati-driver (fglxr) 8.08.25

got hold of an old laptop this weekend with ATI mobility graphics, lspci -v reports it as:
Rage Mobility P/M AGP 2x (rev 64) with the wooping amount of 16M agp ram, clearly not the thing to run Ryzom on but..
installed cedega 4.3-1 on it, copied the Ryzom stuff from my regular machine, and started Ryzom, and waited, and waited, got a cup of coffee , and lo and behold the Ryzom login screen was up, and looked normal. didn't bother to actually run the game, since on this machine its extremely slow, just wanted to test that it started... now the setup is as follows:
OS FC3 updated to latests patches
Kernel: 2.6.11-1.14_FC3
X: xorg-x11-6.8.2-1.FC3.13
driver: ati (standard no frills X ati driver)
No modifications done to cedega config.

Ryzom config forced to OpenGL (btw tried to force it to Direct3D, but Ryzom complains about not beeing able to create a window...)

So one ting to try is to degrade the Xdirver to the regular ati driver it will probably be painfully slow but will verify if this is a driver problem or something else.

I don't really believe that this is a driver issue...
Hmh - conclusion then would be that Mandriva does something different than other distros do....
....or something broke.

rajnika, did you install a fresh copy of SoR on your laptop, did you copy your installation from WinDoze to the laptop or do you access SoR on a completely different way?

Well i gave up with my laptop and installed Mandriva on big PC. I followed your wiki and i have a little problem :P
If i use OSS sound the game is fast and work good but sound isnt working good.
If i use ALSA the sound is good but game is very very very long ! (10 min and more to load after character selection) and in game its unplayable.

Do you have an idea ?

Another problem but i think its not so hard, how to fix this evil aliasing ? (on windows with same computer no aliasing at all.. but i dont know how to configure this on linux)

Hmm, i have hadd a similar situation once or twice, but never thought it was related to OSS/ALSA... in my case it cleared after i did a "microsoft" and rebooted, so its possible there is somthing kernel related here. Make sure that you are not running anny of the sound managers arts, esd etc( again try to run ryzom from the command line without X and all the desktop support daemons )

On an Nvidia there is a nvidia-setings utillity that you could try , there is also som enviroment variabels for that... take a look in /usr/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0/nvidia-settings-user-guide.txt and README...

Yay ! Sound is working and Ryzom loading fast (faster than windows). I found out that we cant move the camera with right click because of DirectInput is disabled... I hope i'll take an habit to play like that.
Else, i still have this da** aliasing. I installed my drivers with urpmi (Mandriva package tool) so there's not nvidia-settings. Is it not possible to edit a configuration file ?

-Raj

Edit : Okay i uninstalled Mdk Nvidia things and installed with Nvidia installer so now its ok for aliasing thing. Sound is good too but it seems that Ryzom doesnt use all channel so sound is working but in a strangely way... Im trying to fix this. Well its just details :P

Anyone have any idea what any of that means? Until I find out how to get beyond it, I can't get this thing installed again. :(

Probably should add that I'm using Mandriva LE 2005 Club with Cedega 4.3.2-1.i386
