I'm afraid we can only get a confirmation of Gameforge France going for Chapter 11 / bankrupcy, if what was posted in French forums is correct (pending official confirmation though).

One may still have hope, since the fact that GF France tanks does not necessarily mean Ryzom is over, right? Well, let's see if we get some final clarification and commitment from Gameforge Gmbh... or well, is GF Gmbh ok with this?

think i speak for most people when i say i'd rather hear what is going on, as bad or as good as things may be than be left in the dark, i cannot believe that people who work for GF don't know, so why the hell aint we being kept informed.

It should be either the Gameforge AG or one of the subsideries Gameforge Productions GmbH or Gameforge 4D GmbH. But if I remember correctly Gameforge SARL is/was a direct subsidery of the Gameforge AG, but maybe the deal they made with Accel changed the structure of the corporation

GF did exactly what it was necessary to do to limit to the maximum the expenses on Ryzom

1 - repurchase of the play to obtain the sources and to take in hand the code
2 - repatriation of the waiters in Germany
3 - repatriation of the system of invoicing in Germany
4 - GF France thus has nothing any more but one “creative” activity
5 - to make live sparely play during 6 to 8 months and especially not make publicity not to increase the number of subscribers
6 - I think that has to do what it is necessary so that the employees of GF France smell themselves badly so that a maximum of those resign of their own sandstone
6 - logical continuation, not to be able to pay the employees of GF France in order to put GF France in liquidation (DATE OF SUSPENSION OF the PAYMENTS 27.08.2007)
7 - the head office of GF is super content, it has just saved 4-5 month of wage bill
8 - to finish off GF France
9 - to finally launch a true pub campaign near all the subscribers of GF in order to rameuter a max of customers and to live on approximately a 8-12 month turn-over. Of course, not to make a development Ca coute too expensive.

In any case, I think that GF will not release the code. For them the commercial life of Ryzom will start when GF France dissolves.

There is hope! The fact that Gameforge France is no more (...) It simply means that Gameforge Gmbh somehow got "rid" of french developers,(...) One may hope that they decide to fully control and develop Ryzom, from Germany, (...) new opportunity.

To me, the *real* question is... would I trust Gameforge, once more, if this was the case, given how things evolved? did they act in good faith, with regard to ex-Nevrax employees? and the community. Am I willing to belive yet more promises (for us oldies it's getting really, really... )

So... wait and see.... is Marjo still employed and able to post here?

Explaining colours to a blind man mean anything to you? I would kindly explain and point out the obvious to you - but it will be a never ending circle of semantics, persnoal opinion, subjectivness and - I can´t be bothered. So I will agree to disagree.

I stated what i thought in my first post on this thread and stand by it.

GF is a company I will dearly avoid - and make sure that I never come across it again. I know there are many other companies out there that follow similar traits -thats why I dont bother with them.

I will cling onto my account here as a Homin and prey that things will have a solution. However, even today I have opened up coulpe of old games I am part of and am now also looking for something new to try - just in case the worst comes to the worst.
