Not really. The game world is essentially a tablecloth that somebody put some rolled up newspaper under at varioius spots. If you go in a cave, you can have a mob above ground over your head smack you through solid earth. Here I am digging away without a mob in sight and I am taking area damage from a Vorax which is 50-60m above my head.

Previously you would take damage when crossing the bridges in Fyros lands from mobs 100m or more below ya. The devs managed to fix the bridge problem but haven't yet come up with a fix for the "cave" problem. The mob might not aggro you (ghandi moded from above ground mobs I guess when underground) but as far as game mechanics are concerned, you are within the 5-10m area attack range even though there is a > 50m difference in what would / should be the z axis.

I remember creatures in EQ1 attacking and hitting me from 50-60m above or below me and that did have a Z-axis.

What was the attack range of the mob that was hitting you ? If it was less than 50-60, then sounds like the z -axis wasn't being recognized by the AI.

Digging in the Izakoo caves, and getting killed by Yelk gas that had been killed by the Varinxs overhead... or for that matter.. popping sources that appear in the roof and digging them from underneath :p

Yep they were hitting me with melee attacks so it wasn't rexognizing the z-axis for calculating attacks.. although they were single target attacks and not area of effect ones.

You know what, I always wanted some people to jump off the cliffs that seem to lead into nothing but clouds. Go ahead and give us that jump thing after all.
