I disliked anachronistic holiday-theming in WoW and I hate the idea of it in Ryzom. The idea of special decoration/events is fine to coincide with our Earth holidays is great (after all, I believe it has been suggested that Christianity took December 25th from the birthday of Mithras to encourage pagans to convert, though this may be a coincidence), just as long as they are Atysian-themed.
Incidentally, as a compromise, I would have been a lot happier to see flaming heads (or something similar) made from Atysian flora rather than anachronistic pumpkins! It was the pumpkin-heads that have spoiled it for me...I could quite happily accept the the skull-moon (hmm, Matis skull? My Atysian anatomy isn't up to scratch) and the yubos since I could easily find another explanation for them...

a jack-o-lantern made out of a Psykopla would be appropriate, although even then the Trykers and Fyros would complain that they arent culturally relevant to them..

Both, resized and antialiassing
Only thing I for me is, I find the Jack-O-Lanterns quite... well... unlovingly made... They´re not quite as nice as the Yubos, or the Moons...

I can deal with people trading dead plants easily enough. I was, however, worried about the rift to Earth that must have appeared somewhere and the worry that panda bears, Big Macs and widescreen-TVs might be following the pumpkins
