I think you also missed the point. For you it isn't about teleports, for us it isn't about sitting on our hands. It's an active choice and stance to be neutral. No, we don't have PvP tags or access to the high end factional teleports but... so what?dakhound wrote:a title is a declaration of your faction, of who you support, we're not all factioned to get tp's, its not about the "we grind for our fame so we deserve a title either". You missed the point entirely didnt you.
my point stands, neutral is not a faction therefore does not deserve a title.

This thread needs huuuuugs!
Honestly? I don't think titles are a big deal myself. I commonly use 'Homin' on all my characters, regardless of level. A couple words hovering over your head? Is that something to argue over?

Re: Production: Fame & Autolauncher Titles
you really have no idea, do you ? yes, there is "ways", but those tp's were marketed as PR tp's for neutrals.totnkopf wrote:Also, what route are you taking that 'forces' you into a pvp zone? There are ways of getting into all of the non-pvp PR zones without having to go anywhere near a pvp zone...
there is 7 pages already. no point in continuing. cya

Wastelands. Run from Haven of Purity Kami, ALL the way through Void to the Void Kami TP... or run from Nexus Kara (about 1/4th the distance).totnkopf wrote:If it were up to me, you'd get the title at 100 Kami fame. Try getting that and telling me its easy.

Since its such a PITA to get to 3/4s of PR that Factioned people can merrily TP to, we are sometimes forced to perform acts of expedience (such as grind fame, buy a cr*pton of tickets, then return to neutral. Havent done it personally, but by all that is frustrating with PR forage I am _so_ tempted).
Anyways, enough off-topic. I would like a title to _prove_ that I am neither Kami nor Kara. Just like a buncha factioned people want a title to prove their faction without resorting to PvP tag. (See? Other people do stuff for expedience when options are limited too).

I've stayed out of this discussion until now, but I can't let the highlighted bit go without comment.dakhound wrote:a title is a declaration of your faction, of who you support, we're not all factioned to get tp's, its not about the "we grind for our fame so we deserve a title either". As a Kami warrior myself, but with my fame only just over the threshold to gain the TPs, why should I be rewarded with a title, when my neutral friends have nothing to show that they support neither side.
In my mind, it is not about the amount of work needed to get a certain amount of fame, but just giving homins a choice about what they wish to call themselves. If needs be, give homins are range of titles depending on their fame. Your 'we' is not my we, give all homins something that they can call themselves. Give homins with low fame a choice between trainee kami/karavan or neutral/mercenary/atheist/agonist/Trytonist/... or whatever.
Give homins with higher fame titles depending on that fame, with the 'best' titles at 100fame, then the homins who work at their fame can be marked out as special.

Re: Production: Fame & Autolauncher Titles
The people who want neutrals to be given a title are forgetting one small detail. There is no such thing as a neutral in the fame system. So how can the developers award a fame title, or a fame designation that does not exist? That's really what this comes down to. These new titles are for reaching various fame levels. So how can you award a title to something that has no defined fame level?
Re: Production: Fame & Autolauncher Titles
Marjo stated that these Faction titles would be the lower ones, additional ones linked to a higher amount of fame would become available later on. So for those who are already yelling they don't like these ones: the Kamist/Karavaneer ones may be in the pipeline at higher fame levels; so get grinding on those fame values and who knows, perhaps there'll be a day you can call yourself a Disciple of Jena just like DT. Well Karavan followers at least.andypur1 wrote:Give homins with low fame a choice between trainee kami/karavan or neutral/mercenary/atheist/agonist/Trytonist/... or whatever.

Mercenary/atheist/agonist ... I'm not to certain you really need a title for those; they're more defined by the way the character is played, but then again the same could be said for factioned players. Besides, just like the faction stance Neutral (I'm really dispising this bad choice of words) they would not fit as a description for everyone, and I don't see them adding 10 suggested variants anyway. It would be even harder to suggest to link them to fame values as there is none for 'Neutrality'.
Since there is no fame value that leaves 3 other conditions on which to implement titles (special rewards for FBT and server merge not acounted):
- Skill level
- Rite reward
- Event reward
To use skill level is just plain silly;
For a Rite reward you need tangible ingame content, and as I said some posts prior to this, who knows if with the Kitin Lair the Rangers would award titles (like Deputy Ranger, Scout, ...) to those as of yet with faction stance Neutral;
Event rewards just like the Nexus event where the prized Kami/Karavan Champion titles were gained. Quite honestly; seen the size of Episode 2 I had actually hoped they'd distribute some back then as well, not the same, but something to remember it by. But it ought to be feasable imo to have an event on the Guild of Elias where players who perform admirably or stick till the end can be granted a title of Child/Follower of Elias/Tryton.
Those last two are pretty much the only options I see as just handing out titles for being 'Neutral' or non-faction alligned means they would be available to anyone, and that includes Faction alligned players (like the title Homin, which we all have). And unless they would suddenly add yet another Fame system ...
It's not about the amount of work needed to get a certain amount of fame, nor the skill levels to unlock it, but it is about who you support or not and the role you take upon yourself to prove it. Different allegiances may have varying costs but in the end all should have the possibility of being able to show their colours when needed.
Let's just hope Nevrax get's the hint.

Sure it does. I know, I clicked it and it sets your fame caps lower.raynes wrote:The people who want neutrals to be given a title are forgetting one small detail. Thinking about it, how about 'Free spirit' - that covers a lot of the ground I think?

Re: Production: Fame & Autolauncher Titles
"Allegiance cult: Neutral" is ingame, trust me. fame level -100 to 50.raynes wrote:The people who want neutrals to be given a title are forgetting one small detail. if it only be by fame level, then allegiance title would be awarded in +30 fame (rite requirement). if you allegiance is neutral, you can go to +50 fame with both.raynes wrote:That's really what this comes down to. so, they tie it with allegiance status, but forgetting that there is 3 states for it, not just 2.
Nevrax forgot neutrals (again). i say it again, "Allegiance cult: Neutral" is ingame.

Post a screenie. I'd love to see what tribe I have to do a mission for to get my Neutral fame to pop up on either the personal, Guild or Tribe fame tables.neniti wrote:Nevrax forgot neutrals (again). i say it again, "Allegiance cult: Neutral" is ingame.
