That video doesn't show that there have been other dance animations developed for Ryzom. It is a 3D animation of a Tryker dancing. Could simply be a demo.
I can think of a half dozen other aspects of development that I would much rather see before a wider selection of boogie animations.

this as an option in the game?
Clearly this shows there are dance animations that have been made for the game. Why can't we use them? Why are we limited to one dance that stops after 4 seconds when we could have a looping dance animation so that we could truly dance?
I get the feeling that the Atysians are very much involved in spiritual matters, but without any dances or music this fails to come across in any meaningful way. Please, developers, unlock the game's dance animations for us, so that our characters can express themselves and their devotion to their spiritual side.

Despite the fact there are no mechanics supporting it Atys has at least one well known entertainer, a story teller called Drakfot....
soooo MANY posts and only now someone remembers Drakfot???
She really is one of the best Storytellers/Entertainers we have. i still foundly remember the time we sat near the Fairhaven Stables and she told a story and i told how the name Cho did come to the Zoraï.
OK, OK, back to the topic.
you´ll not have fancy dancing routines ready made in Ryzom Beeryusa, but i think if you use the Emotes and Spells right... and with a bit of imagination... you CAN be a, not only nice, but great dancer and it will not be something anyone can learn, but something YOU will have mastered, making YOU Beeryusa someone unique and maybe with time you´ll start your own guild of dancers and entertainers that you can teach your tricks to.(and maybe till then the devs will have a few more "dance"emotes for us)

Frankly the dancing in GW was less annoying than the chatter of a lot of people not to mention the "names" they came up with....
and I won't even get into the fact that most people I teamed with there were worst at teamplay than the NPC hechman you could hire in towns the help you do your missions...(go figure)

Look here:
Le Trio du Cercle (3mb) for what a dedicated few might accomblish with emotes alone.

What's so wrong about spelldancing?
Nothing, apart from the fact that it's not a dance.

Not everyone speaks English. Is my point any less valid because I choose to bring it to the attention of the French and German communities? Surely not.
This is pure trolling.

Yeah, it's sad that this is about all that can be accomplished with emotes. What this shows is that there are people like me who desperately want to dance, and who are willing to take anything at all and try to dance with it. Surely this supports my side of the discussion, not yours.

Or... that some people are willing to work with what they have and come up with something impressive.
Ryzom isn't going to be made or broken by dancing. It will be made by good development of worthwhile, relevant content... or broken by wasting valuable development time creating fluff while other essential features need work.
Once the documentation is current, and other much more important development milestones are met, then let's talk about dance emotes.
