lets not forget that with most afflictions (excepting madness) the affliction wont harm the target. Yes, that's why i mentioned only root and fear. The spell effect lasts a few seconds after the link is broken. Long enough for an Elem to cast a root, cast a nuke, another nuke (depending on the amps) and then a root again, stopping the melee in his tracks. The same recipe for fear. The only tricky thing is when the melee resists or put up a anti magic. But there in invulrability, melee aura to mix in.
